ARMENIA TREE PROJECT - HELPED ADVANCE ARMENIA'S ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT BY WORKING TO FUND FOREST RESTORATION, THEREBY PROVIDING FOOD, FUEL, WOOD, ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFITS, AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH.
GOVERNMENT & PUBLIC AFFAIRS - THROUGH NON PARTISAN ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION, THE ASSEMBLY WORKS WITH POLICYMAKERS AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL AND COMMUNITY ACTIVISTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ON A WIDE VARIETY OF ISSUES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO AFFIRMATION OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE AND U.S. ASSISTANCE TO ARMENIA AND NAGORNO KARABAKH.
YEREVAN OPERATIONS - WORK TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION INCLUDING SUPPORT OF DEMOCRACY, THE RULE OF LAW, OPEN MARKETS, AND REGIONAL SECURITY. THESE PROGRAMS ALSO SERVE TO EDUCATE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE CIVIL SOCIETY INITIATIVES WITHIN ARMENIA AND KARABAKH.
WESTERN REGION OPERATIONS - THE WESTERN REGION OFFICE ADVOCATES AND REPRESENTS ISSUES OF CONCERN TO THE CALIFORNIA CONGRESSIONAL DELEGATION THROUGH THE ASSEMBLY'S NETWORK AND POLICY SYSTEM. THE OFFICE PROVIDES INFORMATION FROM AND TO THE ASSEMBLY FOR U.S. GOVERNMENT, STATE, ARMENIAN, AND NAGORNO KARABAKH OFFICIALS, INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND BODIES, PUBLIC POLICY MAKERS, MEDIA AND OTHERS AS NEEDED. THE OFFICE ALSO PROMOTES AND DEVELOPS PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS WITH OTHER ARMENIAN AND NON-ARMENIAN BODIES. TERJENIAN THOMAS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - THIS PROGRAM GIVES STUDENTS OF ARMENIAN DESCENT THE OPPORTUNITY TO LIVE AND WORK IN EITHER WASHINGTON, DC OR YEREVAN, ARMENIA WHILE GAINING EXPOSURE TO POLICY MAKING ORGANIZATIONS, RESEARCH AND THINK TANK ORGANIZATIONS, AND NGOS. INTERNS ALSO MEET WITH U.S. AND ARMENIAN OFFICIALS, PARTICIPATE IN LOCAL ACTIVITIES, AND ENJOY SIGHT-SEEING TRIPS TO ENHANCE THEIR CULTURAL AWARENESS.
