TO LEAD THE ADVANCEMENT OF ACADEMIC EMERGENCY MEDICINE THROUGH EDUCATION, RESEARCH, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
THE SAEM ANNUAL MEETING SHOWCASES EMERGENCY MEDICINE INNOVATIVE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH THROUGH VARIOUS PRESENTATIONS INCLUDING DIDACTICS, ABSTRACTS, LEADERSHIP FORUMS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES. THE 2021 MEETING WAS HELD VIRTUALLY DUE TO COVID AND HAD 2,604 ATTENDEES.VARIOUS OTHER MEETINGS INCLUDED THE SAEM CONSENSUS CONFERENCE, THE AACEM JOINT RETREAT, AND REGIONAL MEETINGS.
ACADEMIC EMERGENCY MEDICINE (AEM) IS A MONTHLY, PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL PUBLISHING ARTICLES, ABSTRACTS, COMMENTARIES AND OTHER MATERIALS RELEVANT TO THE PRACTICE, EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENTS, AND INVESTIGATION OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE.AEM EDUCATION AND TRAINING IS A QUARTERLY, PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL DEDICATED TO PUBLISHING INFORMATION RELEVANT TO EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE.SAEM ALSO PUBLISHES THE SAEM PULSE, A BI-MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, AND SAEM WEEKLY, A WEEKLY E-NEWSLETTER. ALL PUBLICATIONS ARE PROVIDED TO SAEM MEMBERS.
SAEM MEMBERSHIP PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR MENTORING AND LEADERSHIP, ACCESS TO MANY RESOURCES, TOOLKITS FOR ACADEMIC PROMOTION, AND EMERGENCY MEDICINE RESEARCH GRANT OPPORTUNITIES. SAEM PROVIDES OVER 30 ACADEMIES AND INTEREST GROUPS IN VARIOUS AREAS OF EXPERTISE FOR MEMBERS TO COLLABORATE AND ADVANCE THEIR RESPECTIVE SUB-SPECIALTIES. SAEM ALSO HAS A NUMBER OF COMMITTEES WHERE MEMBERS CAN SERVE TO FULFILL THE SOCIETY'S SPECIFIC GOALS AND OBJECTIVES.
