Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO GRACE CENTER FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN BAHIR DAR, ETHIOPIA HAS FUNDED THEIR PROGRAMS TO MEET THE SPIRITUAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PHYSICAL NEEDS OF THOUSANDS OF IMPOVERISHED CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. THREE PARTICULAR EMPHASES FOR 2021 WERE: 1.BECAUSE OF THE CIVIL WAR IN ETHIOPIA, EMERGENCY RESOURCES WERE UTILIZED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF HUNDREDS OF REFUGEES. TWO HUNDRED MATTRESSES AND TWO HUNDRED BLANKETS WERE GIVEN OUT. FOOD WAS PROVIDED FOR HUNDREDS OF FAMILIES FOR MANY MONTHS. 60 REFUGEE YOUNG BOYS WERE TAKEN IN AS FOSTER CHILDREN BECAUSE THEIR FAMILIES SENT THEM AWAY TO BE PROTECTED FROM BECOMING HUMAN SHIELDS AND SUICIDE BOMBERS. THESE BOYS WERE GIVEN A SAFE HOME, FOSTER PARENTS, FOOD, CLOTHING, EDUCATION, SPIRITUAL DIRECTION AND COUNSELING. AFTER THE VIOLENCE SUBSIDED, GRACE CENTER BROUGHT MANY OF THEM BACK TO THEIR FAMILIES, MANY MILES AWAY. 2.CONTINUED FUNDING OF EMERGENCY HELP AS A RESULT OF COVID RESTRICTIONS THAT KEPT PEOPLE FROM WORKING AND ALSO BECAUSE OF THE GREAT INCREASE IN THE COST OF FOOD AND SUPPLIES. GCCF PROVIDED ADDITIONAL FOOD AND SUPPLIES FOR HUNDREDS OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN THE COMMUNITY ON A WEEKLY BASIS, AS WELL AS PROVIDING THESE SERVICES TO ALL GCCF EMPLOYEES. 3.FUNDING FOR DRILLING OF A DEEP WELL THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ALL AT GRACE CENTER TO HAVE ACCESS TO FRESH WATER AND THEN GRACE CENTER OPENED IT UP TO THE LARGER COMMUNITY. ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER IS A MAJOR ISSUE THROUGHOUT ETHIOPIA.
