IN 2021, THE RIVER FOOD PANTRY SERVED MORE FIRST-TIME VISITORS THAN EVER BEFORE DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. WE DISTRIBUTED A RECORD-SETTING 3.9 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD TO 11,279 PEOPLE, ONE THIRD OF WHICH WERE CHILDREN. WE SERVED 58,675 FRESHLY PREPARED TO-GO MEALS TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES AND 33,309 LUNCHES TO CHILDREN THROUGH OUR MOBILE LUNCH PROGRAM, MUNCH. TO HELP MEET THE GROWING DEMAND FOR FOOD, THE RIVER ALSO LAUNCHED A DELIVERY PROGRAM, CALLED RIVER DELIVERS, WHICH PROVIDED 7,518 DELIVERIES OF GROCERIES AND MEALS TO THE HOMEBOUND.OUR NEW EPANTRY HAD 592 ORDERS DURING 2021.
