ADOPTION-HAPPILY EVER AFTER'S (HEA) ADOPTION PROGRAM WAS AGAIN VERY HELPFUL TO COMPANION ANIMALS THAT WERE AT THE RISK OF LOSING THEIR LIVES. IN 2021, 693 DOGS AND CATS FOUND THEIR FOREVER FAMILIES. HEA ALSO CONTINUED TO PLACE EMPHASIS ON PROCESS IMPROVEMENT RELATED TO OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION APPROVAL PROCESS WHILE MAINTAINING EXTREMELY HIGH STANDARDS WHEN IDENTIFYING FOREVER HOMES. HEA'S OBJECTIVE IS TO AVOID POST-ADOPTION RETURNS AND THE ASSOCIATED REUSE OF COMPANION ANIMAL WELFARE FUNDING. IN 2021, 94% OF OUR ADOPTIONS WERE A FIRST-TIME SUCCESS. REHABILITATION & LIFETIME CARE - IN 2021:- AT THE END OF 2021, APPROXIMATELY 20% OF THE DOGS AND CATS IN OUR CARE WERE BEING CARED FOR THROUGH OUR REHABILITATION AND LIFETIME CARE PROGRAMS.
