THE INTERNATIONAL BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH ALLIANCE ("THE ALLIANCE") PROVIDES CAREER DEVELOPMENT, SCHOLARSHIPS, CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR MORE THAN 100 OF THE MOST TALENTED DOCTORAL STUDENTS TO CONDUCT LABORATORY RESEARCH PROJECTS, LEVERAGING THE COMBINED EXPERTISE OF WORLD-PREMIER TRAINING FACILITIES AT THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH AND THE UNIVERSITIES OF CAMBRIDGE AND OXFORD IN THE NIH OXFORD-CAMBRIDGE SCHOLARS PROGRAM. THE ALLIANCE ORGANIZES AND CO-FUNDS SEVERAL MAJOR EVENTS, INCLUDING THE ANNUAL GLOBAL DOCTORAL PARTNERSHIPS SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 STUDENTS, LECTURES ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, CAREER DEVELOPMENT FIELD TRIPS, INCLUDING STUDENT VISITS TO ACADEMIA, INDUSTRY AND OTHER GOVERNMENT-RUN SCIENCE ENTERPRISES. THE INTERNATIONAL BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH ALLIANCE PROVIDES SCIENTIFIC RECOGNITION AWARDS FOR SCHOLARS, PROGRAM ALUMNI, AND OUTSTANDING MENTORS. WE SUPPORT TRAVEL AWARDS FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND CONFERENCES, RECRUITMENT EVENTS DESIGNED TO SHOWCASE THE SCHOLARS PROGRAM, AND CLINICAL CASE CONFERENCES ON A RANGE OF TOPICS AS DECIDED UPON BY THE STUDENTS IN THE MD/PHD TRACK. WE FUND STUDENT SOCIAL AND NETWORKING EVENTS, ADVOCACY FOR AFFORDABLE STUDENT HOUSING, AND STUDENT AND ALUMNI MENTORING.
