TO WORK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS OF PERU TO DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT SELF-SUSTAINING PROJECTS IN HEALTH, EDUCATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - IN 2021, WE WORKED WITH 24 COMMUNITIES AND ASSOCIATIONS TO IMPLEMENT VARIOUS PROJECTS AIMED AT IMPROVING THE FAMILY ECONOMY USING A ROTATING LOAN MODEL. THE FOLLOWING WAS ACHIEVED IN THE VARIOUS PROJECTS: IMPLEMENTED 26 ANIMAL SHEDS, 39 FEEDING TROUGHS, 21 HAYLOFTS, 40 DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEMS, HELPED 35 PEOPLE INVEST IN ANIMALS, SUPPORTED 57 COMMUNITY CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, AND HELPED 53 PEOPLE INVEST IN MATERIALS FOR THEIR SMALL BUSINESSES. THE GROUP SAVINGS PROGRAM WITHIN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM EMPOWERED 16 COMMUNITY SAVINGS GROUPS TO SAVE AND INVEST OVER 83,000 OF THEIR OWN MONEY.
EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS - IN 2021, THE CHIJNAYA FOUNDATION PROVIDED 50 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS FROM RURAL COMMUNITIES TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION IN UNIVERSITIES AND TECHNICAL INSTITUTES.
HEALTH PROGRAM - IN 2021, THE HEALTH PROGRAM PROVIDED TRAINING AND ORAL HYGIENE KITS TO 218 CHILDREN. THE PROGRAM ALSO DISTRIBUTED 1,000 PPE AND INFORMATIONAL KITS TO KEEP COMMUNITIES SAFE DURING IN-PERSON VOTING FOR PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS, BROADCASTED 52 RADIO PROGRAMS WITH HEALTH AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION, AND IMPLEMENTED 6 HAND WASHING STATIONS IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF PUCAR.
