THE PTO IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER RUN ORGANIZATION THAT IS DRIVEN TO RAISE MONEY FOR SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: -SCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM (KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE) -PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER (KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 3RD GRADE) -SCHOOL LIBRARIAN HOURS (NOT COVERED BY SCHOOL DISTRICT) -TEACHER STIPENDS FOR CLASSROOM SUPPLIES AND ACTIVITIES -ART PROGRAM (KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 5TH GRADE) -ART AND SCIENCE DAY FAIR -FAMILY DANCES, MOVIE NIGHTS, AND OTHER SOCIAL EVENTS -TALENT SHOW FUNDRAISING EVENTS INCLUDE: 1) BIANNUAL BOOK FAIRS ARE TO BE HELD IN DECEMBER AND APRIL. BOOK FAIRS ARE HELD ON THE SCHOOL PREMISES AND ARE CONDUCTED BY MEMBERS OF THE PTO AND PARENT VOLUNTEERS. BOOK FAIRS RAISE MONEY TO PURCHASE SCHOOL LIBRARY BOOKS AND SUPPLIES. MONEY IS ALSO ADDED TO GENERAL FUNDS. 2) VOLUNTARY TUITION COLLECTION. SOLICITATIONS ARE CONDUCTED IN PERSON (ON SCHOOL PREMISES), VIA EMAIL, AND VIA LETTERS SENT HOME FROM SCHOOL WITH STUDENTS. A VOLUNTARY TUITION COLLECTION DRIVES BEGINS AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR AND IS CONTINUED UNTIL EITHER THE GOAL IS MET OR THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. SOLICITATIONS ARE CONDUCTED BY MEMBERS OF THE PTO. FUNDS RAISED ARE ADDED TO GENERAL FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE ACTIVITIES LISTED ABOVE. 3) FUND RUN. THIS EVENT IS CONDUCTED ON THE SCHOOL PREMISES. THE FUND RUN IS AN ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY THE PTO AND PARENT VOLUNTEERS IN WHICH CHILDREN OF THE SCHOOL ARE ENCOURAGED TO RAISE MONEY FOR LAPS THEY RUN ON A DESIGNATED DATE/TIME. THIS ACTIVITY OCCURS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR. FUNDS RAISED ARE ADDED TO GENERAL FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE ACTIVITIES LISTED ABOVE. 4) ANNUAL AUCTION. PTO CONDUCTS AN ANNUAL AUCTION; SOLICITATIONS ARE MADE TO LOCAL, AND OTHER BUSINESS FOR ITEMS TO BE SOLD. PROCEEDS ARE ADDED TO GENERAL FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE ACTIVITES LISTED ABOVE. THE AUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO OCCUR IN MARCH. LOCATION OF THE AUCTION IS TBD BUT, IS GENERALLY HELD IN A RENTED SPACE. 5) SALE OF SCRIP CARDS. PTO ACQUIRES FUNDS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR FROM THE SALE OF SCRIPT CARDS. MOST PURCHASES ARE PERFORMED THROUGH THE SCRIP WEBSITE WITH EL GRANADA PTO AS THE DESIGNATED RECIPIENT. FUNDS COLLECTED ARE ADDED TO GENERAL FUNDS TO PAY FOR THE ACTIVITIES LISTED ABOVE.
