BUILDING CLIMATE AND SOCIOECOLOGICAL RESILIENCE THROUGH AGROECOLOGY IN THE CARIBBEAN AND THE REGION. WE DO THIS BY RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT AGROECOLOGY ADVANCES AND CHALLENGES IN THE REGION, FACILITATING PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING CAPACITY AMONGST STAKEHOLDERS THROUGH RESEARCH, EXCHANGES, COURSES, CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS, AMPLIFYING VOICES INTERNATIONALLY, AND CHANNELING RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO OUR PARTNERS IN THE REGION.IN 2021 THIS INCLUDED: 1) A VIRTUAL YEAR LONG CONFERENCE SERIES IN 6 PARTS TITLED RESISTANCE AND RESILIENCE: RESPONSES TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS FROM CUBA AND PUERTO RICO, 2) MATERIAL DONATIONS TO AN AGROECOLOGY FARM AND ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION IN CUBA TO BUILD INFRASTRUCTURAL CAPACITY, 3) THE EDITING AND PUBLICATION OF A WHITE PAPER IN COORDINATION WITH MORE THAN 40 CUBAN AUTHORS TITLED SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOODS IN CUBA'S COASTAL ZONES, AS PART OF THE RESEARCH INITIATIVE FOR THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF CUBA, 4) SUPPORTED AN AGROECOLOGY AND FOOD SOVEREIGNTY PROJECT WITH WOMEN'S FARMERS GROUPS IN EASTERN CUBA, 5) SERVE AS FISCAL SPONSOR TO AN AFRO-INDIGENOUS COLLECTIVE IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC PROMOTING AGROECOLOGY AND FOOD SOVEREIGNTY, AND 6) COORDINATED A GLOBAL RESEARCH PROJECT LOOKING AT THE EVIDENCE FOR AGROECOLOGY.
