2022 SCALING OUR WORK IN A HISTORIC MOMENT WITH MILLIONS OF WORKERS LEAVING THE INDUSTRY AND THOUSANDS OF RESTAURANTS TRANSITIONING TO ONE FAIR WAGE AS A RESULT, THE POTENTIAL TO WIN ONE FAIR WAGE HAS GREATLY INCREASED. AS A RESULT, OUR SUPPORTERS HAVE ENCOURAGED US TO SCALE OUR CAMPAIGN TO MEET THIS HISTORIC MOMENT. FEBRUARY 2022, ONE FAIR WAGE ANNOUNCED A NEW CAMPAIGN TO MOVE BILLS AND BALLOT MEASURES TO RAISE WAGES AND END SUBMINIMUM WAGES IN 25 STATES BY THE UNITED STATES 250TH ANNIVERSARY 2026.IN MICHIGAN, STATE COURTS REVERSED A LEGISLATIVE ATTEMPT TO UNDERMINE A BALLOT MEASURE WE LED IN 2018 TO RAISE THE WAGE TO 12 AN HOUR FOR ALL WORKERS, INCLUDING TIPPED WORKERS WHO CURRENTLY RECEIVE JUST OVER 3 AN HOUR. THE MICHIGAN COURT OF CLAIMS DECLARED OUR INITIATIVES PROPOSAL TO BE THE LAW OF THE LAND, MAKING MICHIGAN THE EIGHTH STATE TO REQUIRE A FULL WAGE WITH TIPS ON TOP.
