TO COMBAT CRIPPLING BONE AND JOINT DISEASE IN OKLAHOMA VIA EDUCATION, TREATMENT AND RESEARCH.

PROVIDED EDUCATION SEMINARS ARE TOPICS RELATING TO BONE AND JOINT DISEASE AND SPORTS INJURY PREVENTION. ALSO PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO COACHES ON INJURY PREVENTION PRACTICES. PROVIDE EDUCATION MATERIALS TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS ON SPORTS INJURY PREVENTION. WORK WITH SCHOOLS ON WHAT NEEDS ARE MOST URGENT TO IMPLEMENT SAFETY PRACTICES INTO THE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT AND PAIR THEM WITH COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO ACQUIRE NEEDS. PROVIDE INFORMATION TO SCHOOL BOARDS AND THE COMMUNITY ON THE IMPORTANCE OF ATHLETIC TRAINERS IN SCHOOLS.


THE FOUNDATION AWARDS PRESERVE SPORTS INJURY PREVENTION GRANTS TO UNDERPRIVELAGED SCHOOLS. THESE GRANTS ARE TO REPLACE OLD, UNSAFE SPORTS EQUIPMENT AND CAN ALSO PURCHASE FIRST AID EQUIPMENT. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES SCHOOLS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ABOUT INJURY PREVENTION IN YOUTH SPORTS.
