EDUCATION:EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES WERE PROVIDED FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH AT I CAN FLY HIGH SCHOOL, ICF PRE-SCHOOL AND RESCUE CENTER. 252 STUDENTS FROM NINE COUNTIES IN KENYA AGES 0-18 YEARS OLD WHO ARE AFFECTED BY EARLY MARRIAGE, FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION, GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND LOW - INCOME BACKGROUNDS WERE THE PRIME BENEFICIARIES. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS BENEFITED 785 CHILDREN, YOUTH, AND ADULTS IN MACHAKOS COUNTY. PROVISIONS WERE MADE FOR TUITION FEES, HOUSING, MEALS, UNIFORMS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, MATTRESSES, HYGIENE KITS, BOOKS, DESKS, COMPLIANCES, LEGAL FEES, ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES, MEDICAL CARE, SHIPPING, AND COMMUNICATIONS. 32 I CAN FLY HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI RECEIVED FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR UNIVERSITY FEES AND LIVING EXPENSES THROUGH THE I CAN FLY SCHOLARS PROGRAM.
FOOD PROGRAM:FOOD PROGRAMS AT I CAN FLY HIGH SCHOOL AND PRE-SCHOOL STUDENTS THREE MEALS PER DAY. CLEAN WATER, FIREWOOD, COOKING GAS AND KITCHEN SUPPLIES WERE PROVIDED TO PREPARE HOT MEALS FOR ALL CHILDREN ON EACH CAMPUS. BALANCED MEALS CONSISTING OF VEGETABLES, BEANS, MAIZE, BREAD, MEAT AND FRUITS WERE PROVIDED.
TRANSPORTATION:TRANSPORTATION INCLUDED THE PURCHASE OF A FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE-OFF ROAD VEHICLE, FUEL FOR ICF SCHOOL VEHICLES, CAR AND BUS INSURANCES, TOLL FEES, VEHICLE REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE FOR THE BENEFIT OF ICF HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. TAXIS AND CHARTERED BUS TRANSPORTATION WERE PROVIDED FOR SCHOLARS PROGRAM RECIPIENTS TO TRAVEL TO UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES AND APPOINTMENTS. ALL ICF HIGH SCHOOL VEHICLES RECEIVED REGULAR MAINTENANCE, DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, INSPECTIONS AND SAFETY CHECK-UPS.
DEVELOPMENT/INFRASTRUCTURE:DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS AND INFRASTRUCTURE WAS PROVIDED ON THE I CAN FLY HIGH SCHOOL AND PRE-SCHOOL CAMPUSES. THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW DORMITORY (BUTTERFLY HOUSE #4) WHICH CONSISTS OF A TRI- LEVEL BUILDING WAS CREATED TO ACCOMMODATE ADDITIONAL STUDENTS AND REDUCE OVERCROWDED LIVING SPACES.
