THE COUNCIL PROVIDES PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY EDUCATION THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT AND DISSEMINATION OF EDUCATION INFORMATION VIA PROFESSIONAL MEETINGS, PROFESSIONAL PUBLICATIONS, AND EDUCATION MATERIALS. A PROFESSIONAL WEBSITE IS MAINTAINED FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION. HUNDREDS OF VETERINARIANS AND VETERINARY TECHNICIANS HAVE BEEN EDUCATED AT APPROXIMATELY 7 SYMPOSIA. COLUMNS AND ARTICLES AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPLEMENTS HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED IN JOURNALS AND PUBLICATIONS THAT REACH THE ENTIRE COMPANION ANIMAL PROFESSION. THE COUNCIL HAS ROAD SHOW TOURS OVER VARIOUS REGIONS OF THE UNITED STATES WHERE IT REACHES OVER 700 VETERINARIANS AND TECHNICIANS DURING THE ACTUAL TOURS AND TOUCHES THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS THROUGH PUBLIC EVENTS AND MEDIA COVERAGE.

VIDEO NEWS RELEASE ARE CREATED TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND HAVE BEEN VIEWED BY AN ESTIMATED 2 MILLION VIEWERS IN OVER 50 MARKETS. THE COUNCIL HAS ROAD SHOW TOURS OVER VARIOUS REGIONS OF THE UNITED STATES WHERE IT REACHES OVER 700 VETERINARIANS AND TECHNICIANS DURING THE ACTUAL TOURS AND TOUCHES THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS THROUGH PUBLIC EVENTS AND MEDIA COVERAGE.


THE COUNCIL SUPPORTS EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS AND EFFORTS OF OTHER PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF VETERINARY PARASITOLOGISTS, AMERICAN HEARTWORM SOCIETY, AMERICAN ANIMAL HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION, AND COMMUNITY PRACTICE EDUCATORS. SUPPORT OF EDUCATIONAL TRAINING IS PROVIDED TO SOME OR ALL OF THESE ORGANIZATIONS. THROUGH THESE PROGRAMS, THE COUNCIL HAS DIRECTLY IMPACTED APPROXIMATELY 150 EDUCATORS AND SECONDARILY IMPACTED THEIR STUDENTS


THE COUNCIL CONDUCTS SURVEYS OF AWARENESS AND ATTITUDES OF THE VETERINARY PROFESSION AND CONSUMERS WITH THE INTENT OF USING THE RESULTS TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS AND PUBLICATIONS THAT WILL ALLOW A BETTER FOCUS ON FUTURE EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS.
