Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
CHURCH PLANTING SUPPORT - THIS MAJOR ARM OF OUR MINISTRY IS FOCUSED ON THE RAISING UP OF CHURCH PLANTERS AND THE PLANTING OF HEALTHY GOSPEL-CENTERED CHURCHES WHO SEEK TO EXALT JESUS CHRIST AND BLESS THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY FIND THEMSELVES. IN 2022, COMPASSION CONNECTION SPECIFICALLY SUPPORTED EIGHT CHURCH PLANTERS WHO ARE WORKING IN VARIOUS REGIONS OF ECUADOR. DURING THE YEAR, TWO OF THESE CHURCH PLANTERS PASSED THE RIGOROUS ASSESSMENT PROCESS AND HAVE NOW BECOME MEMBERS OF ACTS 29 INTERNATIONAL, AN ORGANIZATION WITH WHOM COMPASSION CONNECTION WORKS CLOSELY. THE OTHER SIX PASTORS HAD PREVIOUSLY PASSED THIS ASSESSMENT. THIS LENGTHY PROCESS IS DESIGNED TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE MEN OF INTEGRITY, CHARACTER, AND A PASSION TO SEE CHRIST'S NAME PROCLAIMED IN ECUADOR THROUGH LOCAL CHURCHES. REGULAR VISITS, PHONE CALLS, AND ZOOM SESSIONS ARE MADE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO BRING CARE AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO THESE PASTORS AND PLANTERS.
PASTORAL LEADERSHIP TRAINING - THE OTHER MAJOR MINISTRY ARM OF COMPASSION CONNECTION IS THAT OF TRAINING PASTORS AND CHURCH LEADERS IN BIBLE, THEOLOGY, AND PRACTICAL CHURCH MINISTRY. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH A 3-YEAR CURRICULUM GIVEN IN 9 MODULES OF 3 CLASSES EACH. IT INVOLVES A ONE-WEEK INTENSIVE TRAINING IN WHICH PASTORS AND LEADERS MEET IN A VENUE WHICH ALLOWS FOR SLEEPING, EATING, AND RECEIVING CLASSES. THESE EVENTS ARE VERY LABOR INTENSIVE FOR ALL OF OUR STAFF, AS WELL AS REPRESENTING SOME OF THE GREATEST COSTS OF THE MINISTRY. LAST YEAR, WE TRAINED MORE THAN 80 PASTORS AND LEADERS, OFFERING THEM THE THREE MODULES.
MERCY MINISTRY - IN 2022 COMPASSION CONNECTION DISBURSED FUNDS AS REQUESTED AND NEEDED BY LOCAL CHURCH AND ORPHANAGES. COMPASSION CONNECTION USED ITS RESOURCES TO SERVE TWO ORPHANAGES WITH FOOD, CLOTHING AND CLEANING SUPPLIES. AS CHURCHES REACHED OUT WITH NEEDS, CC RESPONSIBLY MET NEEDS SUCH AS PROVIDING FOOD FOR FAMILIES IN NEED, PURCHASING MEDICINE AND PAYING MEDICAL BILLS, PURCHASED EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, SEEDS FOR GARDENS AND PURCHASED MATERIALS FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS FOR CHURCHES. ADDITIONALLY, COMPASSION CONNECTION PARTIALLY FUNDED LIFE-SAVING TREATMENT FOR STAGE IV BREAST CANCER FOR OUR PRIMARY ECUADORIAN ADMINISTRATOR WHO IS 28 YEARS OLD.
