TO SUPPORT PHARMACY PRACTITIONERS AND PROMOTE AND ADVANCE HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY PHARMACY TO OPTIMIZE THE CARE OF INDIVIDUALS AFFECTED BY CANCER.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
CONFERENCES AND COURSES: THE ANNUAL MEETING IS DESIGNED TO DISCUSS AND PROMOTE BEST PRACTICES AND TRENDS IN THE HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY FIELD. THE ANNUAL PRACTICE MANAGEMENT COURSE IS DEDICATED TO DISCUSSING CHANGES AND TRENDS RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP WITHIN HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY PHARMACY PRACTICE. HOPA ALSO HOSTS WEBINARS TO SUPPORT THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ITS MEMBERS. TOPICS ARE DETERMINED FROM NEEDS ASSESSMENT CONDUCTED AMONG THE MEMBERSHIP IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE COMPETENCY OF PHARMACY PRACTITIONERS IN THE FIELD OF HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY.
HEALTH POLICY AND ADVOCACY: HOPA ACTS AS AN ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF PATIENTS AS WELL AS REPRESENTING HEMATOLOGY/ONCOLOGY PHARMACISTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY IN LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ENDEAVORS.
MEMBERSHIP: HOPA PROVIDES A VARIETY OF RESOURCES TO ITS MEMBERSHIP TO SUPPORT THEIR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. THESE INCLUDE LIVE INTERACTIVE CONFERENCE PROGRAMMING, COURSEWORK TO MEET REQUIREMENTS FOR BOARD CERTIFICATION WITHIN THE PROFESSION, WEBINARS HIGHLIGHTING CURRENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE INDUSTRY AND DEVELOPMENT OF PRACTICE STANDARDS.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: HOPA OFFERS BOARD CERTIFIED ONCOLOGY PHARMACIST (BCOP) RECERTIFICATION PROGRAMMING - A RIGOROUS EDUCATION DEVELOPED AND DELIVERED IN MULTIPLE FORMATS TO SUPPORT MAINTENANCE OF THE BOARD OF PHARMACY SPECIALTIES (BPS) BCOP CERTIFICATION. BCOP IS A PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION INDICATING THE ABILITY TO DELIVER PHARMACEUTICAL CARE AT AN ADVANCED LEVEL.
