ODAIKO SONORA RHYTHM INDUSTRY (OS RI) IS A CULTURAL HERITAGE ARTS AND EDUCAION AGENCY THAT ENGAGES PEOPLE THROUGHOUT SOUTHERN ARINZONA THROUGH DIRECT EXPERIENCES WITH TAIKO (JAPANESE DRUMMING). (SEE SCH O FOR COMPLETE STATEMENT.)

PROVIDED PERFORMANCES AND INSTRUCTION USING TAIKO-JAPANESE ENSEMBLE DRUMMING AS ITS CULTURAL BASE. WE CONDUCTED IN-STUDIO COMMUNITY GROUP PRACTICE AND RECREATIONAL TAIKO EVERY SATURDAY, WITH PERFORMING ENSEMBLE, UNDERSTUDY, BEGINNER PRACTICE AND INTRO TO TAIKO DURING THE WEEK. GUEST ARTIST WORKSHOPS NOV 2021, JAN 2022 AND ARIL 2022. ZOOM OPTIONS AVAILABLE FOR ALL. OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR WAS TAIKO PROJECT REHEARSALS, ALL AZ TAIKO TEAM REHEARSALS WITH VIDEO- TAPED PERFORMANCES, SHAMISEN CIRCLES, TAIKO BAKA AT LATI, PARTICIPATION IN LATI JI GOE WORKSHOPS AND RETREAT. WE CONDUCTED 12 IN-PERSON PERFORMANCE-TYPE EVENTS, AND DELIVERED SEVERAL PROGRAMS VIA ZOOM. WE COLLABORATED ON ONE FULL-ACADEMIC YEAR, ALL-GRADES SCHOOL PROGRAM AT LILLIAN CAVETT ELEMENTARY WEEKLY. PROVIDED RURAL/BIPOC GRANT FUNDED CREATIVE AGING/LIFELONG LEARNING PROGRAM AT SPLENDIDO RANCHO VISTOSO, BI-WEEKLY IN MONTHS OF JAN-APR. WE CONTINUED TO PROVIDE ARTS INCUBATION SPACE FOR DEVELOPING COMMUNITY ARTS AND CULTURAL ORGANIZATION.
