FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 6/30/24:EFFORTS DURING THE 2023-24 PERIOD WERE CONCENTRATED ON GROWING THE UV&ME PROGRAM. WITH THIS PROGRAM, MEDICAL STUDENTS ARE ORGANIZED AND SUPPORTED IN THEIR SERVICE LEARNING EFFORTS TO DELIVER VOLUNTEER SKIN CANCER PREVENTION PRESENTATIONS IN COMMUNITY SCHOOL CLASSROOMS. DR. ASHLEY BUILT AN ENTIRELY NEW UV&ME WEBSITE, WWW.UVANDME.ORG. CLOUD STORAGE WAS ESTABLISHED TO HOUSE ALL THE UV&ME RESOURCE LIBRARY MATERIALS THAT SUPPORT THE VOLUNTEER MEDICAL STUDENTS WORK. A PART TIME EMPLOYEE WAS HIRED TO SERVE AS GENERAL MANAGER.UV&ME CHAPTERS ARE ALREADY ACTIVE AT MORE THAN A DOZEN UNIVERSITY MEDICAL SCHOOLS IN THE US, AND TWO IN CANADA, WITH MANY MORE IN THE EARLY STAGES OF CHAPTER FORMATION. WE HAVE COLLECTED EMAIL ADDRESSES OF POTENTIALLY INTERESTED MEDICAL STUDENTS AT MOST OF THE APPROXIMATELY 155 US MEDICAL SCHOOLS AND WILL SOON BEGIN SENDING OUT MESSAGES TO ENCOURAGE THE FORMATION OF NUMEROUS NEW CHAPTERS.
