THE MISSION OF HUI NO KE OLA PONO IS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH STATUS OF NATIVE HAWAIIANS BY EMPOWERING THE PRESENT AND FUTURE GENERATIONS TO BE THEIR OWN HEALTH ADVOCATES. HUI NO KE OLA PONO SERVES AS A "BRIDGE" TO THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY BY INTEGRATING MEDICAL CARE WITH TRADITIONAL HAWAIIAN VALUES, BELIEFS AND PRACTICES. ALTHOUGH OUR MISSION IS FOCUSED ON THE NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY, HUI NO KE OLA PONO DOES NOT TURN ANYONE AWAY.

HEALTH ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS - PROVIDES INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE HEALTH DISPARITIES AND/OR HEALTH CONCERNS NEEDING EDUCATION, REFERRAL AND/OR PRIMARY AND COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENT. PART OF THIS PROGRAM IS FOR NUTRITIONAL SERVICES WHICH INCLUDES LUNCH AND CATERED MEAL SERVICE. ALSO INCLUDES EDUCATIONAL AND TRADITIONAL PROGRAMS TO LEARN ABOUT FOOD SUSTAINABILITY AND LIVING A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE THROUGH EDUCATION, EXERCISE, COOKING AND EATING.


CLINICAL SERVICES - PRIMARY HEALTH/PHYSICIAN-DIRECTED SERVICES FOR PATIENTS REFERRED BY OUR HEALTH ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM AND OTHER HEALTH CENTERS ON MAUI. PHYSICIAN HOME VISITS ARE MADE FOR CERTAIN PATIENTS WHO ARE HOME-BOUND OR LACK ACCESS TO NECESSARY HEALTH CARE. BY CARDIOLOGIST REFERRAL ONLY, SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FOR A LIFESTYLE PROGRAM, TO REVERSE HEART DISEASE. ORAL HEALTH SERVICES PROVIDED BY DENTIST AND DENTAL HYGIENIST. OTHER PROGRAMS INCLUDE HAWAIIAN LOMI LOMI, LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPY AND CHIROPRACTIC CARE.
