ERIE REGIONAL HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT WAS FOUNDED IN 1976 WITH ONE MISSION: TO OFFER INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL AND COMMUNITY BUILDING SERVICES FOR CHILDREN, YOUTH, SENIOR CITIZENS AND FAMILIES IN THE WESTERN NEW YORK AREA.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT: CLIENTS WILL ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES WHICH FOCUS ON DEVELOPING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS, LEADERSHIP AND PLANNING, SKILLS NEEDED FOR SUCCESS IN THE WORKFORCE/ENTREPRENEURSHIP, AND EXPOSURE TO DIFFERENT CAREERS, VOLUNTEER OR INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE MOCK INTERVIEWS, DEVELOPING ON-THE-JOB SKILLS (SOFT SKILLS OR TECHNICAL SKILLS), JOB SHADOWING, COMPLETING ONLINE AND IN PERSON JOB APPLICATIONS, AND CONNECTING TO PART-TIME OR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES.


OUT OF SCHOOL TIME: OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLIENTS TO ENGAGE IN ORGANIZED SPORTS OR FITNESS ACTIVITIES. EXAMPLES FOR YOUNGER CLIENTS INCLUDE SPORTS CLINICS, SWIM INSTRUCTION, CAMPS, LEAGUES OR E-SPORTS. MAY INCLUDE NONTRADITIONAL SPORTS. EXAMPLES FOR OLDER CLIENTS INCLUDE WALKING CLUBS, YOGA, TAI CHI, SILVER SNEAKERS, LINE DANCE, PICKLE BALL, ETC.


EVENING: OUR EVENING PREVENTION PROGRAM CURRICULUM INVOLVES SPORTS, EXERCISE, PHYSICAL TRAINING WHICH SERVE AS "HOOK AND INCLUDE SUBSTANCE ABUSE, VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND LIFE SKILLS TRAINING. OCCASIONAL SCHEDULED WORKSHOPS IN LIFE SKILLS, PREVENTION WORKSHOPS USING THE EVIDENCE BASED "TOO GOOD" SERIES PRINCIPLES AND PARTNER WORKSHOPS FEATURING VISITING SPECIALISTS INCLUDING PROFESSIONAL COACHES ARE AN INTEGREATED CURRICULAR WHOLE.
