HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER NEWBURGH IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMILIES IN NEED. REACHING ACROSS RELIGIOUS, CULTURAL, AND RACIAL BOUNDARIES, WE SEEK TO REBUILD A SENSE OF COMMUNITY WITH THE COMMON GOAL OF STRONG NEIGHBORHOODS AND DIGNITY THROUGH HOMEOWNERSHIP.

HFHGN BUILDS HOMES AND COMMUNITY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HARD WORKING FAMILIES AND VOLUNTEERS IN NEWBURGH, NY. IT FOCUSES ITS HOME BUILDING EFFORTS IN U.S. CENSUS TRACTS 4 AND 5, WHICH RANKS AS THE MOST DISTRESSED URBAN AREAS IN NEW YORK STATE. IN APRIL OF 2017, ITS DESIGNATED FOCUS AREA BECAME KNOWN AS THE BROADWAY RIVER DISTRICT FOUR SQUARE BLOCKS NORTH AND SOUTH OF BROADWAY BETWEEN LIBERTY STREET AND DUBOIS STREET. HFHGN STRIVES TO COMPLETE EIGHT HOUSES PER YEAR. BY JUNE OF 2021, IT HAD DEDICATED ITS ONE HUNDRETH HOME. HFHGN STRATEGICALLY BUILDS NOT JUST HOMES, BUT NEIGHBORHOODS. HFHGN COMPLETED ITS MOST SIGNIFICANT NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROJECT ON EAST PARMENTER STREET IN JUNE OF 2014 AND HAS SUBSEQUENTLY COMPLETED BLOCK PROJECTS ON S MILLER/JOHNSTON STREETS AND WILLIAM STREET.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF GREATER NEWBURGH SUPPORTS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONALS GLOBAL HOUSING EFFORTS BY TITHING TEN PERCENT OF ITS UNRESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO BUILD HOMES INTERNATIONALLY. IN ADDITION TO OUR WORK IN THE CITY OF NEWBURGH, HFHGN HAS SERVED OVER 122 FAMILIES IN MEXICO, ETHIOPIA, JORDAN, INDIA, AND HAITI. HFHGN STRIVES TO CONTINUE TO HELP BUILD STRENGTH, STABILITY AND SELF RELIANCE THROUGH HOME OWNERSHIP TO MAKE SHELTER A MATTER OF CONSCIENCE.
