WHEN AGUILA, INC. WAS OPERATING, THE MISSION WAS TO HELP FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS THRIVE IN NEW YORK CITY THROUGH THE PROVISION OF TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES. OFTEN THIS INVOLVED BREAKING THE CYCLE OF GENERATIONAL AND SITUATIONAL HOMELESSNESS. THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF HOMELESS SERVICES. THE HOUSING WAS SAFE AND SECURE AND CREATED A COHESIVE AND HOMELIKE ATMOSPHERE TO HELP FAMILIES REBUILD THEIR LIVES AND GET BACK ON THE PATH TO INDEPENDENT LIVING. THE ORGANIZATION'S SOCIAL SERVICE STAFF DELIVERED AN ARRAY OF CLIENT SERVICES INCLUDING JOB PLACEMENT, ADVOCACY AND CHILDHOOD ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS. THEY ALSO COORDINATED SUPPORT AVAILABLE TO CLIENTS IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. THE SOCIAL SERVICES WERE PROVIDED TO CLIENTS RESIDING IN THE ORGANIZATION'S TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND ALSO TO RESIDENTS OF TRANSITIONAL HOUSING MAINTAINED BY OTHER PROGRAMS. THE ORGANIZATION'S HOUSING SPECIALISTS ASSISTED CLIENTS TO FIND PERMANENT AFFORDABLE QUALITY HOUSING.
