THE 37TH SEASON (21-22) ENTITLED IN-PERSON WAS EXCITING BECAUSE IT BROUGHT MEMBERS BACK TO LIVE AND IN-PERSON EVENTS. SYMPOSIUM 135 (OCT 17-18) FANNY & FELIX FEATURED WORKS BY FANNY MENDELSOHN HENSEL AND FELIX MENDELSOHN. AS THE CONCERT HALL BEGAIN TO DISCOVER THE WONDERFUL WORKS OF FANNY MENDELSSOHN HENSEL, WE PAIRED HER PIANO TRIO WITH THE ASTONISHING SECOND CONTRIBUTION TO THE GENRE BY FELIX. SYMPOSIUM 136 (DEC 5-6) QUINTESSENTIAL III FEATURED WORKS BY BEETHOVEN, DVORAK AND BRAHMS. CONTINUING OUR QUINTESSENTIAL PROJECT OF EXPLORING THE STRING QUARTETS HUMBLE NEXT OF KIN, WE ADDED A VIOLA FOR QUINTETS BY BEETHOVEN AND BRAHMS. SYMPOSIUM 137 (MAR 13-14) CHILDREN OF ORPHEUS SHOWCASED VIRTUOSO STRING CONCERTOS BY CORELLI, VIVALDI, HANDEL AND OTHERS. IT SURVEYED THE ENORMOUS INFLUENCE OF ARCANGELO CORRELI, KNOWN IN HIS LIFETIME AS THE NEW ORPHEUS OF OUR TIMES. HE WAS THE FIRST MUSICIAN TO BE BURIED IN THE FAMED PARTHENON. ON THE PROGRAM WERE FAVORITES BY VIVALDI AND HANDEL, ALONGSIDE NEW DISCOVERIES.SYMPOSIUM 138 (MAY 15-16) CONCERTS AVEC PLUSIEURS INSTRUMENTS INCLUDED COLORFUL WIND CONCERTOS BY BACH, VIVALDI, TELEMANN, AND OTHERS. CONCERTOS FOR VARIOUS INSTRUMENTS IS THE RATHER UNASSUMING TITLE GIVEN BY BACH TO ONE OF HIS MOST BELOVED COLLECTIONS, THE BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS, WHICH EXPLORED VIBRANT AND NOVEL GROUPINGS OF INSTRUMENTS. WE CONCLUDED THE SEASON WITH THE COLORFUL SIDE OF BACH AND HIS CONTEMPORARIES, MIXING STRINGS WITH WINDS TOGETHER IN A KALEIDOSCOPE OF SOUND TO BRING THE DISTINCT AND DIVERSE TOGETHER IN CONCERT AND HARMONY.
