CORPORATE BOARD INITIATIVE - SEE SCHEDULE O.THE CORPORATE BOARD INITIATIVE WAS STARTED TO ACCELERATE THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN ON CORPORATE BOARDS ACROSS ALL INDUSTRY SECTORS. OUR STRATEGY REFLECTS OUR BELIEF THAT CHANGE HAPPENS MORE QUICKLY WHEN IT'S DRIVEN FROM THE TOP. OUR INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON THE GAME-CHANGERS: CEOS, CHAIRMAN, NOM./GOV. CHAIRS AND DIRECTORS WHO CAN TRULY ACCELERATE THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN ON BOARDS, WITH THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF ACHIEVING GENDER BALANCE ON CORPORATE BOARDS BY 2025.WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. HOLDS A BIENNIAL EVENT HONORING COMPANIES THAT ARE LEADING THE WAY TO GENDER BALANCE ON CORPORATE BOARDS: THE BREAKFAST OF CORPORATE CHAMPIONS. THIS EVENT WAS HELD ON NOVEMBER 10, 2021.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING - SEE SCHEDULE O.A DIGITAL PROGRAM WAS CREATED AND UTILIZED DURING WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH TO ENCOURAGE DIALOGUE AND THE IMPORTANCE OF DIVERSITY IN LEADERSHIP. THE DIGITAL PROGRAM FEATURED A PRE-TAPED MODERATED CONVERSATION, BETWEEN MICHELLE OBAMA AND VALERIE JARRETT, AND WAS BROADCAST ON MARCH 24TH. THE PROGRAM WAS FREE TO MEMBERS OF THE WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, AND ALL PAST AND PRESENT RECIPIENTS OF THE WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK FINANCIAL AWARDS, WHICH ARE AWARDED TO WOMEN 35 AND OVER WHO HAVE OVERCOME ADVERSITY AND RETURNED TO SCHOOL TO GET THEIR FIRST COLLEGE DEGREE. THE PROGRAM WAS CO-SPONSORED BY BNY MELLON. BNY MELLON RECEIVED A PROGRAM LISTING, AND AS CO-SPONSOR OF THE DIGITAL PROGRAM, BNY MELLON RECEIVED ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM HAD APPROXIMATELY 600 ATTENDEES.
FELLOWS PROGRAM - SEE SCHEDULE O.WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. PROVIDES 20 ANNUAL FINANCIAL AWARDS, TO SUPPORT MATURE WOMEN, AGE 35 AND OVER, WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN DISRUPTED BY EXTREME ADVERSITY, WHO ARE RESUMING THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION AND GETTING THEIR LIVES BACK ON TRACK. THE AWARD RECOGNIZES EXTRAORDINARY AND OFTEN HEROIC EFFORT IN OVERCOMING ADVERSITY AND THE MOST DAUNTING OF ODDS IN RESTRUCTURING LIVES FOR SUCCESS. SINCE 1987 THE RECIPIENTS OF THESE AWARDS HAVE PROVIDED INSPIRATION TO THOSE WHO HAVE COME TO KNOW AND ADMIRE THEIR SUCCESS IN RISING ABOVE THEIR CHALLENGES, OBTAINING THEIR COLLEGE DEGREES AND TAKING THEIR PLACE IN THE PROFESSIONAL WORK WORLD. NINETY PERCENT OF OUR ED FUND SCHOLARS EARN THEIR COLLEGE DIPLOMAS. MANY PURSUE GRADUATE STUDIES. OUR ALUMNAE RANGE FROM DOCTORS TO DANCERS WHO GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITIES AND WHOSE CHILDREN GO ON TO GET THEIR COLLEGE DEGREES.THE AWARDS ARE ANNOUNCED IN JULY OF EACH YEAR. IN 2021, THE WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. DISTRIBUTED FINANCIAL AWARDS OF $10,000 EACH.
