WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. MOST SIGNIFICANT PROGRAMS ARE:1. THE SCHOLARS PROGRAM (FORMERLY REFERRED TO AS THE FELLOWS PROGRAM) WHICH PROVIDES FINANCIAL AWARDS TO WOMEN 35 AND OVER WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED HIGH POTENTIAL, BUT WHOSE EDUCATION AND LIFE PATH HAVE BEEN DISRUPTED BY EXTREME ADVERSITY. THESE WOMEN FREQUENTLY FALL OUTSIDE THE SCOPE OF TRADITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS AND OUR AWARDS HELP THEM COMPLETE THEIR EDUCATION AND GET THEIR LIVES BACK ON TRACK. OVER 30 YEARS, THE WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK HAS RAISED MONEY THROUGH MEMBER DONATIONS AND OUR ANNUAL FUNDRAISER, THE ELLY AWARDS, ENABLING US TO HELP OVER 280 WOMEN REGAIN THEIR SELF-ESTEEM, RELAUNCH THEIR LIVES AND BECOME ROLE MODELS FOR THEIR FAMILIES. 2. THE CORPORATE BOARD INITIATIVE WHICH ADVANCES WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP ON CORPORATE BOARDS THROUGH EDUCATION AND OUTREACH.

SCHOLARS PROGRAM - SEE SCHEDULE O.WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. PROVIDES 20 ANNUAL FINANCIAL AWARDS, TO SUPPORT MATURE WOMEN, AGE 35 AND OVER, WHOSE LIVES HAVE BEEN DISRUPTED BY EXTREME ADVERSITY, WHO ARE RESUMING THEIR COLLEGE EDUCATION AND GETTING THEIR LIVES BACK ON TRACK. THE AWARD RECOGNIZES EXTRAORDINARY AND OFTEN HEROIC EFFORT IN OVERCOMING ADVERSITY AND THE MOST DAUNTING OF ODDS IN RESTRUCTURING LIVES FOR SUCCESS. SINCE 1987 THE RECIPIENTS OF THESE AWARDS HAVE PROVIDED INSPIRATION TO THOSE WHO HAVE COME TO KNOW AND ADMIRE THEIR SUCCESS IN RISING ABOVE THEIR CHALLENGES, OBTAINING THEIR COLLEGE DEGREES AND TAKING THEIR PLACE IN THE PROFESSIONAL WORK WORLD. NINETY PERCENT OF OUR ED FUND SCHOLARS EARN THEIR COLLEGE DIPLOMAS. MANY PURSUE GRADUATE STUDIES. OUR ALUMNAE RANGE FROM DOCTORS TO DANCERS WHO GIVE BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITIES AND WHOSE CHILDREN GO ON TO GET THEIR COLLEGE DEGREES.THE AWARDS ARE ANNOUNCED IN JULY OF EACH YEAR. IN 2022, THE WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC. DISTRIBUTED FINANCIAL AWARDS OF $10,000 EACH.
CORPORATE BOARD INITIATIVE - SEE SCHEDULE O.THE CORPORATE BOARD INITIATIVE WAS STARTED TO ACCELERATE THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN ON CORPORATE BOARDS ACROSS ALL INDUSTRY SECTORS. OUR STRATEGY REFLECTS OUR BELIEF THAT CHANGE HAPPENS MORE QUICKLY WHEN IT'S DRIVEN FROM THE TOP. OUR INITIATIVE FOCUSES ON THE GAME-CHANGERS: CEOS, CHAIRMAN, NOM./GOV. CHAIRS AND DIRECTORS WHO CAN TRULY ACCELERATE THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN ON BOARDS, WITH THE OVERARCHING GOAL OF ACHIEVING GENDER BALANCE ON CORPORATE BOARDS BY 2025.WOMEN'S FORUM OF NEW YORK, INC.
