IS A PRIVATE, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION SOLELY COMPRISED OF WOMEN FROM VARIOUS COMMUNITIES ON LONG ISLAND COMMITTED TO PROMOTING VOLUNTARISM, DEVELOPING THE POTENTIAL OF WOMEN AND IMPROVING COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE EFFECTIVE ACTION AND LEADERSHIP OF TRAINED VOLUNTEERS. THE LEAGUE IS A MEMBER OF THE ASSOCIATION OF JUNIOR LEAGUES, INC. AND ITS PURPOSE IS EXCLUSIVELY EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE.
