THE PURPOSE OF THE AMERICAN MUSICAL SOCIETY, INC., IS TO PROMOTE THE KNOWLEDGE OF ALL ASPECTS OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, PARTICULARLY PERTAINING TO THE COLLECTING, HISTORY, PERFORMANCE ON, USE, CONSTRUCTION AND RESTORATION OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS OF ALL AGES AND ALL PEOPLES.

PUBLICATIONS: PUBLISHED ANNUAL SCHOLARLY JOURNAL (JOURNAL OF THE AMERICAN MUSICAL INSTRUMENT SOCIETY), 2 NEWSLETTERS, WEB PAGE.


ANNUAL MEETING: THE ANNUAL MEETING WAS HELD VIRTUALLY (ZOOM SESSIONS).


GRIBBON FUND: GRIBBON FUNDS SUPPORT THE WILLIAM E. GRIBBON MEMORIAL AWARD FOR STUDENT TRAVEL. SEVERAL STIDENTS (FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC) ARE AWARDED EACH YEAR TO ENABLE UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE SOCIETY'S ANNUAL MEETING. INCLUDES MEMBERSHIP AND REIMBURSEMENT OF CONFERENCE-RELATED EXPENSES.
