THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (ISPA) IS AN INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF PERFORMING ARTS PROFESSIONALS WHO COME TOGETHER WITH THE SHARED GOAL OF STRENGTHENING THE ARTS INTERNATIONALLY BY BUILDING LEADERSHIP ABILITY, RECOGNIZING AND DISCUSSING FIELD-WIDE TRENDS AND DEEPENING GLOBAL EXCHANGE THROUGH THE ARTS. WE ACHIEVE THIS THROUGH INTERNATIONAL CONGRESSES, FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS, RESOURCE SHARING AND ONLINE EXCHANGE.

ANNUAL CONGRESS (NEW YORK)THE ANNUAL CONGRESS IN NEW YORK FACILITATES THEDEVELOPMENT AND TOURING OF THE PERFORMING ARTS BYPROVIDING A VENUE WHERE CREATORS AND PRESENTERS CANMEET. IT ALSO PROVIDES A FORUM WHERE LEADERS IN THE ARTSCAN DISCUSS THE ISSUES AND CHALLENGES IN A GLOBAL CONTEXT.IN 2021, THIS PROGRAM WAS VIRTUAL.INTERNATIONAL CONGRESSEVERY YEAR ISPA HOLDS A CONGRESS IN A DIFFERENT REGION OFTHE WORLD IN ORDER TO FACILITATE AND FOSTER A GREATERUNDERSTANDING AND AWARENESS OF THE ARTS IN THE REGION. IN2021, THE REYKAJVIK CONGRESS WAS CANCELED DUE TO COVID-19.LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENTIN AN EFFORT TO STRENGTHEN THE ARTS INTERNATIONALLY,THE ORGANIZATION AWARDS FELLOWSHIPS TO EMERGING ARTSLEADERS. FELLOWSHIPS FACILITATE THE INCUMBENT'SPARTICIPATION IN ISPA'S NETWORK, STRENGTHENINGTHEIR OVERALL PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS AND EXPERIENCE.THIS PROGRAM WAS CURTAILED DUE TO THE PANDEMIC AND HELD VIRTUALLY.ON-LINE INITIATIVESISPACONVENESISPASTREAMSISPA SERIES AT THE FRINGE
