NYSID'S SINGLE PURPOSE AND, THEREFORE, PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY IS TO PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW YORKERS WITH SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES. DURING THIS REPORTING PERIOD, THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WORKING ON NYSID PREFERRED SOURCE CONTRACTS TOTALED 4,644 (EARNINGS AND WAGES IN EXCESS OF $77.7 MILLION). PREFERRED SOURCE EMPLOYMENT PROVIDES SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES TO PEOPLE AND FISCAL SUPPORT TO NEW YORK STATE.
