THE MISSION OF IMCR IS TO TRANSFORM CONFLICT THROUGH CONVERSATION, BY OFFERING MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION SERVICES AND TRAINING IN NON-VIOLENT PRINCIPLES AND SKILLS, WHICH EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS TO RESPOND CONSTRUCTIVELY TO CONFLICT.

THE INSTITUTE FOR MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION, INC. ADDRESSED A TOTAL OF 1,513 CIVILIAN INITIATED COMPLAINTS AT ITS DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTER IN BRONX COUNTY. THESE CASES INCLUDED REFERRALS FROM BRONX CRIMINAL COURT,BRONX CIVIL COURT,HOUSING COURT,FAMILY COURT,WALK-INS,VIA 311CALLS,THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION,AND OTHER GRASSROOTS ORGANIZATIONS. OF THE ABOVE STATED CASELOAD, 689 MATTERS WERE SCREENED,8 CONCILIATED,435 CONFLICT COACHED,375 MEDIATED AND 4 RESTORATIVE PRACTICE MATTERS. THESE CASES OPENED AND RESOLVED WERE MADE POSSIBLE BY PROVIDING A SIMPLE AND ACCESSIBLE MECHANISM FOR THE RESOLUTION OF INTERPERSONAL CIVIL ANDCRIMINAL COMPLAINTS, AND BY OFFERING BRONX RESIDENTS AN ALTERNATIVE DISPUTERESOLUTION CENTER THAT PROVIDES PARTIES IN A DISPUTE A NON-THREATENING ENVIRONMENTIN WHICH THEIR MATTERS ARE ADDRESSED. THANKS TO THE VOLUNTARY SERVICES OF A POOL OFTRAINED AND CERTIFIED MEDIATORS AND ARBITRATORS, IMCR HAS CONTINUALLY CONTRIBUTED TO PEACE AND FOR THE CATCHMENT AREA, THE INSTITUTE FOR MEDIATION AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION, INC. (IMCR), SCREENED A TOTAL OF 136 CIVILIAN INITIATED COMPLAINTS AT THE COURT DISPUTE REFERRAL CENTER LOCATED AT BRONX CRIMINAL COURT AND AT ITS DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTER IN BRONX COUNTY. THE CASES OPENED AND RESOLVED WERE MADE POSSIBLE BY PRESENTING A SIMPLE AND ACCESSIBLE MECHANISM FOR THE RESOLUTION OF INTERPERSONAL CIVIL AND CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS, AND BY OFFERING BRONX RESIDENTS AN ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION CENTER PROVIDES PARTIES A NON-THREATENING ENVIRONMENT FOR THE RESOLUTION OF INTERPERSONAL DISPUTES. BOTH MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION SERVICES ARE PROVIDED WITH THE VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION OF TRAINED COMMUNITY MEDIATORS AND ARBITRATORS.
