RIVERARTS PROVIDES EXTENSIVE PROGRAMMING IN ARTS EDUCATION, INCLUDING PRIVATE AND GROUP MUSIC LESSONS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS [MORE THAN 7,000 LESSONS PER YEAR],BLUEGRASS WEEKEND INTENSIVES WITH PROFESSIONAL BLUEGRASS ARTIST\INSTRUCTORS FROM THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST, AND THREE SUMMER CAMPS FOR CHILDREN: SUMMERARTS [RUNNING FOR MORE THAN 40 YEARS], WHERE CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN WORKSHOPS IN A MYRIAD OF ART FORMS; JAZZCAMP, WHERE CHILDREN LEARN THE ART OF IMPROVISATION FROM SEASONED JAZZ MUSICIANS; AND STORYCAMP, WHERE CHILDREN LEARN TO TELL THEIR OWN STORIES THROUGH WORDS, ART AND MUSIC.
RIVERARTS PUBLIC EVENTS INCLUDE TWO EXTENSIVE FREE MULTI-VILLAGE TOURS. ONE THAT INCLUDES APPROXIMATELY 100 VISUAL ARTISTS SHOWING THEIR WORK IN THEIR STUDIOS AND TALKING TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT THEIR CREATIVE PROCESS. THE SECOND EVENT SHOWCASES MORE THAN 250 MUSICIANS FROM THROUGHOUT THE AREA PLAYING 45 MINUTE CONCERTS ON ONE SATURDAY IN ABOUT 35 VENUES. IN ADDITION TO THESE TOURS, RIVERARTS PRESENTS A PROFESSIONAL CONTEMPORARY DANCE CONCERT, A CHAMBER MUSIC SERIES FEATURING MUSICIANS FROM THROUGHOUT THE AREA, AND AN ARTIST CONVERSATION SERIES HIGHLIGHTING ARTISTS IN MANY DIFFERENT ART FORMS DISCUSSING THEIR CREATIVE PROCESS. ADDITIONALLY, RIVERARTS EXPERIMENTS WITH PROGRAMS COMBINING DIFFERENT ART FORMS, SUCH AS MUSIC AND POETRY.
