ERIE ARTS & CULTURE IS COMMITTED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF OUR REGION'S RESIDENTS. WE DO THIS BY LEVERAGING THE POWER OF THE ARTS AND HUMANITIES TO ADDRESS THE VITAL NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF ERIE AND NORTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021, ERIE ARTS & CULTURE ADMINISTERED 101 FUNDING AWARDS WITHIN ERIE, WARREN, CRAWFORD, MERCER, AND VENANGO COUNTIES. THIS INCLUDES THREE ARTIST FELLOWSHIPS, 42 EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, 28 GRANTS THROUGH THE IGNITE ARTS GRANT PROGRAM, AND 28 GRANTS THROUGH THE PENNSYLVANIA PARTNERS IN THE ARTS PROGRAM STREAM GRANT PROGRAM. THE PANDEMIC IMPOSED CHALLENGES ON OUR ARTS AND LEARNING PROGRAMS, IN PARTICULAR OUR TEACHING ARTIST RESIDENCIES SINCE SCHOOLS WERE LEARNING TO ADAPT TO A NEW VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT. WE CONDUCTED 10 ARTS IN EDUCATION RESIDENCIES. THESE RESIDENCIES SERVED CORE PARTICIPANTS TOTALING 2,263. IN ADDITION TO THE CORE PARTICIPANTS, AN ADDITIONAL 187 INDIVIDUALS BENEFITED FROM THESE RESIDENCIES. AS PART OF OUR COMMITMENT TO PRESERVE AND PROMOTE DIVERSE CULTURES, WE INTERVIEWED AND DOCUMENTED THE WORK OF 26 FOLK AND TRADITIONAL ARTISTS
