REGRANTING: DANCE/NYC DELIVERS FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO THE DANCE COMMUNITY IN ITS ROLE AS A REGRANTOR. MAJOR PROJECTS INCLUDE A DANCE ADVANCEMENT FUND, WHICH SUPPORTS DANCE MAKERS WITH BUDGETS UNDER $500K; A DISABILITY. DANCE. ARTISTRY. RESIDENCY PROGRAM WHICH EXPANDS RESIDENCY OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISABLED DANCERS AND INTEGRATED DANCE COMPANIES; A NEW YORK CITY DANCE REHEARSAL SPACE SUBSIDY PROGRAM, WHICH MAKES AFFORDABLE DANCE REHEARSAL SPACE AVAILABLE, AND IN 2022, THE CORONAVIRUS DANCE RELIEF FUND: NEW YORK STATE EDITION, WHICH EXTENDED EXISTING RELIEF EFFORTS TO ARTISTS AND ORGANIZATIONS.
ADVOCACYDANCE/NYC ADVOCATES ON BEHALF OF THE DANCE SECTOR BY REGULARLY REPRESENTING ITS INTERESTS TO THE CITY, STATE, AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND TO THE PHILANTHROPIC COMMUNITY. USING ITS RESEARCH AS A TOOL FOR CHANGE AND ROOTED IN ITS ORGANIZATIONAL VALUES OF JUSTICE, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION, DANCE/NYC DRIVES POLICY, DISSEMINATES RESOURCES, PROVIDES SELF-ADVOCACY TOOLS, AND INFORMS INVESTMENT AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT. IT REMAINS ADAPTABLE TO BEST SERVE THE CHANGING NEEDS OF DANCE WORKERS,ARTISTS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND BUSINESSES TO ENSURE THAT DANCE THRIVES IN THE METROPOLITAN NYC AREA.DANCENYC.ORG:DANCE/NYC'S WEBSITE, DANCE.NYC, WHICH LAUNCHED IN 2014, IS THE "GO TO" SITE FOR DANCE PROMOTIONAL AND MANAGEMENT RESOURCES AND POSITIONS THE ORGANIZATION FOR LEADERSHIP IN SERVICE TECHNOLOGY. DANCE.NYC OFFERS A COMMUNITY CALENDAR, LISTINGS BOARDS, RESOURCES AND PROMOTIONAL PLATFORMS FOR THE DANCE COMMUNITY AND INCLUDES ITS RESEARCH AND ADVOCACY WORK FOR THE PUBLIC. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO SENDS OUT WEEKLY AND MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTERS AND SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGNS ABOUT ONGOING NEWS AND OPPORTUNITIES OF IMPORTANCE TO THE METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CITY AREA DANCE COMMUNITY.

INITIATIVES IN 2022 INCLUDED DIGITAL AND IN-PERSON CONVENINGS: BI-ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM, DANCE WORKFORCE RESILIENCE INITIATIVE LAUNCH EVENT, AND DANCE INDUSTRY CENSUS ROUNDTABLES, AND FIELD-WIDE CALLS TO ADDRESS PRESSING NEEDS AND PLANS FOR THE FUTURE OF DANCE IN THE METROPOLITAN NYC AREA.
RESEARCHDANCE/NYC IS COMMITTED TO EFFECTIVE CASE BUILDING GROUNDED IN RESEARCH TO GUIDE STRATEGIC AND RESPONSIVE POLICY, FUNDING DEVELOPMENT, AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES IN THE METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CITY AREA. IN 2022, DANCE/NYC COLLECTED DATA THROUGH A DANCE INDUSTRY CENSUS, WHICH WILL FORM THE BASIS FOR THE STATE OF NYC DANCE RESEARCH REPORT TO BE PUBLISHED IN LATE 2023. THIS COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH STUDY AIMS TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE SIZE, MAKEUP, HEALTH AND STATE OF THE DANCE ECOSYSTEM IN THE METROPOLITAN NEW YORK CITY AREA IN ORDER TO ADDRESS ECONOMIC INEQUITIES IN THE FIELD AND ENSURE THAT ALL DANCE WORKERS ARE RECOGNIZED AND REPRESENTED.
