THE MISSION OF SYCAMORE TRUST IS TO PROVIDE A SOURCE OF INFORMATION A VEHICLE FOR THE EXCHANGE OF VIEWS AND A COLLECTIVE VOICE TO NOTRE DAME ALUMNI AND OTHERS IN THE NOTRE DAME FAMILY WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT PRESERVING THE CATHOLIC IDENTITY OF THE UNIVERSITY IN ORDER TO SUPPORT THE MISSION STATEMENTS REQUIREMENT FOR A CONTINUING PRESENCE OF A PREDOMINANT NUMBER OF CATHOLIC INTELLECTUALS ON FACULTY.

THE ORGANIZATION MAINTAINS A WEBSITE ABOUT SECULARIZATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME TO INFORM ALUMNI AND OTHERS WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SCHOOLS CATHOLIC IDENTITY OF ITS CAUSES AND REMEDIES.


OPEN LETTERS ARE PUBLISHED FOR SUPPORTER TO SIGN SEEKING CORRECTIVE ACTION TO PARTICULARLY EGREGIOUS SCANDALS AT THE UNIVERSITY.


PERSONNEL MONITOR ACTIVITIES THAT BEAR UPON THE UNIVERSITYS CATHOLIC IDENTITY AND REPORT ON THEM IN REGULAR ARTICLES.


THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS VARIOUS OPPORTUNITIES FOR COLLECTIVE PRAYER AND OTHER POSITIVE MEANS TO SUPPORT EFFORTS THAT PROMOTE THE SCHOOLS CATHOLIC IDENTITY AS WELL AS EVENTS FOR ALUMNI FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF NOTRE DAME TO BUILD COMMUNITY AROUND OUR MISSION.
