THE DAY SCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM EDUCATED STUDENTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN ACADEMIC, VOCATIONAL AND LIFE SKILLS PROGRAMS PROVIDING INCLUSION OPPORTUNITIES WHENEVER POSSIBLE. ADDITIONAL STUDENTS WERE PROVIDED WITH SELF-CONTAINED AND INCLUSIVE RESPITE PROGRAMMING DURING SCHOOL VACATIONS.
KULANU ACADEMY PROVIDES VOCATIONAL SERVICES FOR YOUNG ADULTS ATTENDING SCHOOL OR WHO HAVE AGED OUT OF DISTRICT OR DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION PLACEMENTS.KULANU WORKS WITH EACH INDIVIDUAL TO DISCOVER THEIR SKILLS, APTITUDES AND INTERESTS, AND THEN DEVELOP COMMUNITY-BASED WORK EXPERIENCES TO MEET THEIR NEEDS. KULANU PROVIDES, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INDIVIDUAL AND THEIR TEAM, JOB STRENGTHENING, JOB SEEKING, EMPLOYMENT SECUREMENT, EMPLOYMENT ACCLIMATION AND ORIENTATION, JOB COACHING AND JOB RETENTION SERVICES.KULANU ACADEMY'S VOCATIONAL DEPARTMENT HAS PARTNERED WITH OVER 100 LOCAL EMPLOYERS WHO ASSIST OUR STUDENTS IN BUILDING THEIR WORKPLACE READINESS SKILLS WHILE DEVELOPING THEIR VOCATIONAL INTERESTS TO PREPARE FOR FUTURE EMPLOYMENT.
