THIS INCLUDED LONGTIME IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMS DANCEAFRICA IN THE CLASSROOM, WHICH ENGAGES STUDENTS IN GRADES K-8 IN THE DANCE, MUSIC, AND ARTISTIC TRADITIONS OF AFRICA AND ITS DIASPORA; AND WORD. SOUND. POWER. IN THE CLASSROOM, WHICH ENCOURAGES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO READ, WRITE, AND REFLECT THROUGH THE STUDY OF SPOKEN WORD PERFORMANCE; AS WELL AS THE LAUNCH OF IN-SCHOOL RESIDENCY (RE)CENTERING THEATER, WHICH ENGAGES STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12 WITH THE WORK OF PLAYWRIGHTS OUTSIDE OF THE TRADITIONAL THEATER CANON. AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS INCLUDED ARTS & JUSTICE, A DEVISED THEATER PROGRAM THAT EMPOWERS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO CREATE CHANGE IN THEIR COMMUNITY, WHICH CENTERED AROUND THE THEME OF "PERSONAL PERCEPTION, SELF-ESTEEM, AND INTERGENERATIONAL TRAUMA; IN SPRING 2022" DANCE IN FOCUS, A NEW INTENSIVE CHOREOGRAPHY LAB FOR ASPIRING DANCEMAKERS IN GRADES 9-12; AND BROOKLYN INTERNS FOR ARTS AND CULTURE, A COLLEGE PREPARATION AND CAREER READINESS PROGRAM FOR HIGH-SCHOOL SENIORS. BAMKIDS FAMILY PROGRAMMING INCLUDED: A VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE EVENT FEATURING SINGER, RAPPER, AND BEATBOXER VERBAL ASE; SONG OF THE NORTH, A LARGE-SCALE MIXED MEDIA AND SHADOW-PUPPET WORK BY HAMID RAHMANIAN; THE 24TH BAMKIDS FILM FESTIVAL; AND TWO LIVE OUTDOOR ARTS FESTIVALS.

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED: BRAZILIAN MODERNISM AT 100, WHICH EXPLORED THE PLURALISTIC SPIRIT THAT CHARACTERIZED BRAZILIAN FILM CULTURE; CARELESS CRIME + THE FILMS OF SHAHRAM MOKRI, WHICH SHOWCASED THE EXPERIMENTAL WORK OF THE IRANIAN AUTEUR; AND THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF ERNEST DICKERSON'S NEO-NOIR JUICE.
