MAJOR PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR THE 2020-2021 INCLUDE: "REHEARSAL, PERFORMANCE, AND TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, BCC REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES PIVOTED TO AN ONLINE FORMAT FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON. DESPITE THE CHALLENGES OF ONLINE INSTRUCTION, BCC DESIGNED INNOVATIVE REHEARSAL AND RECORDING STUDIOS TO ALLOW SINGERS TO HEAR CONDUCTOR, PIANO, AND ADDITIONAL VOICES SYNCHRONOUSLY. PERFORMANCES WERE PRODUCED ONLINE AND FEATURED NEW ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS, INCLUDING BCC'S FIRST EVER MUSIC VIDEO, ENTITLED HOPE LINGERS ON. IN ADDITION TO MUSIC VIDEOS, BCC SINGERS COMPLETED 41 VIRTUAL CHOIRS IN TOTAL, PARTICIPATED IN WEEKLY ONLINE REHEARSALS AND TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ADDITIONAL COVID-SAFE OUTDOOR REHEARSAL OPPORTUNITIES AS WELL. "SUSTAINING ENROLLMENT AND NEW SINGERS LIKE MANY ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY, BCC'S ENROLLMENT DIPPED DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. AN AGGRESSIVE RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN LED BCC TO WELCOME 81 NEW SINGERS IN A CHALLENGING YEAR. IN TOTAL, BCC SERVED 331 SINGERS IN WEEKLY CORE CHOIR PROGRAMS. CONDUCTOR, KRYSTAL MORIN, LED A POP-UP CHOIR FOR SINGERS IN 6TH GRADE AT THE BRADLEY SCHOOL IN EAST BOSTON, ENDING IN A CULMINATING GRADUATION DAY PERFORMANCE. BCC CONDUCTORS LED ADDITIONAL WORKSHOPS IN THE CHELSEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS. "LAUNCHING NEW INNOVATION PROGRAMS: BCC LAUNCHED SEVERAL NEW PROGRAMS THAT WERE AVAILABLE TO SINGERS AND FAMILIES ONLINE THIS YEAR OPUS NUOVO - THIS COMMISSIONING PROGRAM GIVES BCC SINGERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK ALONGSIDE GLOBALLY RENOWNED COMPOSERS TO CREATE NEW COMMISSIONS FOR PERFORMANCE. THIS YEAR, BCC SINGERS COMPOSED 4 NEW ORIGINAL PIECES THAT WILL BE PREMIERED IN OUR FINALE CONCERT ON MAY 29, 2021 BCC UNWIND - IS A PROGRAM THAT OFFERED SINGERS A CHANCE TO CONNECT THROUGH GAMES AND SOCIAL ACTIVITIES. SINGERS MET ONCE A MONTH FOR ACTIVITIES THAT ALLOWED THEM TO BOND WITH THEIR PEERS AND TEACHERS. THE STUDIO AT BCC - SINGERS IN UPPER CHOIRS WERE GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN FREE VOICE LESSONS WITH DISTINGUISHED VOICE COACHES. OVER THE YEAR, 27 SINGERS PARTICIPATED IN FREE WEEKLY LESSONS. MUSIC AND MOVEMENT - DESIGNED FOR CHILDREN AGED 4-6, OUR PILOT MUSIC AND MOVEMENT PROGRAM WELCOMED 21 PARTICIPANTS. CHILDREN MET WEEKLY TO ENGAGE IN MUSIC READINESS ACTIVITIES INCLUDING DANCE, RHYTHM WITH FOUND SOUNDS, STORYTELLING AND MORE MUSIC VIDEOS - IN ASSOCIATION WITH ARTISTS FOR HUMANITY, BCC PRODUCED 5 MAJOR MUSIC VIDEOS FOR THE 2020-2021 SEASON. ANDREA RAMSEY'S HOPE LINGERS ON AND MAVIS STAPLES' BUILD A BRIDGE WERE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MUSIC VIDEO PROJECT.
