EVERETT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVERETT'S ENSEMBLE OF ARTISTS CONDUCTED PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES THROUGH THE YEAR FOR LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES ACROSS RHODE ISLAND AND BEYOND. THIS INCLUDED TEACHING COURSES IN THE PERFORMING ARTS TO OVER 150 YOUNG PEOPLE AT EVERETT SCHOOL WHERE 90% OF STUDENTS ARE LOW-INCOME AND ATTEND FREE OF CHARGE AND OPENING A NEW ORIGINAL PRODUCTION WITH EVERETT COMPANY THAT PREMIERED AT BROWN UNIVERSITY AND RAN AT EVERETT STAGE FOR THREE WEEKENDS WITH FREE TICKETS GIVEN TO LOW-INCOME AND BIPOC COMMUNITY MEMBERS. ADDITIONALLY, EVERETT ARTISTS CONDUCTED ARTS RESIDENCIES WITH A SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL WELLBEING FOCUS AT THE MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF YOUTH SERVICES FOR JUSTICE INVOLVED YOUNG PEOPLE. THROUGH THIS PROGRAMMING, EVERETT REALIZES ITS BELIEF THAT THE ARTS TRANSFORM LIVES ACROSS CULTURES, GENERATIONS AND ECONOMIC BACKGROUNDS AND CREATE A MORE JUST, EQUITABLE AND JOYOUS FUTURE
