IN ITS 2020-2021 SEASON, BLUE HERON SCHEDULED 4 SELF-PRESENTED, ONLINE CONCERTS,ONLINE-ONLY CONCERTS, AN ONLINE THREE -PART LECTURE SERIES, AND THREE ONLINE CLASSES FEATURING PERFORMANCE PRACTICE, LECTURES, AND INTERVIEWS TO AN AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 2,000. BLUE HERON ALSO COLLABORATED WITH ANOTHER U.S. ORGANIZATION IN AN ONLINE-ONLY FESTIVAL. PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED RESIDENCIES AT U.C. DAVIS AND BOSTON COLLEGE WERE CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19, AND AN OUT-OF-STATE TOUR WAS POSTPONED UNTIL 2022.
BLUE HERON MADE AND SOLD RECORDINGS OF THE ENSEMBLE. A NEW CD WAS PRODUCED FOR DIGITAL-ONLY RELEASE.
BLUE HERON EDUCATED THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE MUSIC AND ABOUT HISTORICAL PERFORMANCE PRACTICE THROUGH PROGRAM NOTES MADE AVAILABLE DIGITALLY FOR EACH PERFORMANCE, AS WELL AS THROUGH ITS LECTURE SERIES AND ONLINE CLASSES.
