Part 3
IN FISCAL 2018, WE RESCUED 31 WOLFDOGS. TWELVE FROM AN ABUSE/NEGLECT/ABANDONMENT CASES IN OHIO, AS WELL AS 19 FROM OWNERS IN CRISIS, ANIMAL CONTROL AGENCIES, MUNICIPAL SHELTERS AND STRAYS THROUGH LAW ENFORCEMENT. WE PLACED 3 INTO A TRAINING FACILITY AND PLACED 19 INTO PERMANENT HOMES. TWELVE PASSED AWAY FROM OLD AGE OR DISEASE, ENDING THE YEAR WITH 56 ANIMALS. WE HOSTED SEVEN "HOWL IN" EVENTS ON SITE AND ELEVEN EDUCATIONAL EVENTS OFFSITE, WITH STUDENTS AND THE ELDERLY. WE ASSISTED OMEN CREEK WOLFDOG RESCUE, AN ORGANIZATION IN OHIO, GET STARTED AND CAPTURE ANIMALS AT LARGE; AS WELL AS SET UP THEIR BOOKKEEPING AND ASSISTING THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS. OUR INCREASED REVENUE CAME FROM DONATIONS SUBSEQUENT TO A STORY RUN ON WLOS TV ABOUT FULL MOON FARM AND OUR BUDGET SHORTFALL. THE INCREASED REVENUE ALLOWED US TO RETIRE OUR VETERINARIAN BILL, REPAIR VEHICLES AND PURCHASE A MUCH NEEDED UTV FOR HELP WITH THE ANIMAL CARE. OUR ANNUAL "PAWTY" WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH THE WORLD OF LUPINE FOUNDATION, IT WAS WELL ATTENDED AS AN EDUCATIONAL EVENT WITH VISITORS FROM THE UK AND THIRTY DIFFERENT STATES. WE WERE BLESSED WITH TWO GREAT INTERNS, WHO HELPED US THROUGH THE SPRING AND SUMMER WHILE FINISHING THEIR DEGREES, AND WORKED WITH THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ASHEVILLE ON A VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT DAY, THAT BROUGHT US SOME WONDERFUL NEW VOLUNTEERS.
