STEWARDSHIP: CONDUCT ANNUAL MONITORING OF ALL EASEMENT PROPERTIES AND ADDRESS ANY POTENTIAL VIOLATIONS. MAINTAIN TRAILS, PARKING AREAS, AND OTHER FEATURES OF FEE PROPERTIES. IN 2023, ALL EASEMENT AND FEE PROPERTIES WERE MONITORED. SEVERAL TRAILS WERE MAINTAINED AND IMPROVED. A BRIDGE WAS CONSTRUCTED AT OUR HANSEN POND PROPERTY.
RESTORATION AND ECOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT: COMBAT INVASIVE PLANTS AND RESTORE WETLANDS. IN 2023, WORK WAS DONE TO COMBAT INVASIVE MILFOIL IN SHAPLEIGH POND.
CONSERVATION: PROTECT LAND THAT BENEFITS LOCAL COMMUNITIES FROM DEVELOPMENT THROUGH PURCHASE OR CONSERVATION EASEMENT. IN 2023, WE ACCEPTED A FEE DONATION OF A 9 ACRE WOODED PROPERTY, ADJACENT TO ANOTHER 90-ACRE PARCEL TO BE DONATED IN 2024. WE WORKED TO SECURE DONATIONS OF A CONSERVATION EASEMENT AND A TRAIL EASEMENT, EXPECTED TO CLOSE IN 2024.
