THE CASTINE HISTORICAL SOCIETY COLLECTS, PRESERVES AND EXHIBITS MATERIALS THAT ILLUMINATE THE RICH HISTORY OF THE CASTINE - BAGADUCE RIVER AREA AND, THROUGH IT, THAT OF NEW ENGLAND AND AMERICA, FROM PRE-COLONIAL TIMES TO THE PRESENT. IN DOING SO, THE SOCIETY SEEKS TO ENGAGE RESIDENTS AND VISITORS OF ALL AGES IN THE EXPLORATION AND STEWARDSHIP OF CASTINE'S DIVERSE HISTORICAL RESOURCES.
