FY2019-20 MAJOR PROGRAM 1 EDAH - ALOHA CONNECTS INNOVATIONTO ADDRESS THE MAJOR ECONOMIC DOWNTURN, MASSIVE UNEMPLOYMENT, AND HIGH RATE OF BUSINESS FAILURES RESULTING FROM THE SUFFERING CREATED BY COVID-19, THE ALOHA CONNECTS INNOVATION (ACI) PROGRAM WAS LAUNCHED TO NURTURE AND GROW KNOWLEDGE-BASED WORK OPPORTUNITIES IN HAWAII AND FUEL THE EMERGING INDUSTRIES AND INNOVATION SECTORS.DURING THE PROGRAM PERIOD BEGINNING IN SEPTEMBER AND EXTENDING TO DECEMBER 15, 2020, HIEDB SERVED AS A FACILITATOR OF ACI. AS FACILITATOR, HIEDB RECRUITED AND ENROLLED HOST COMPANIES, AND ASSISTED WITH MATCHING JOB SEEKERS AND INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS WITH HOST COMPANIES AND ENSURED MONITORING AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS OF ACI WERE MET.
