Part 3 - Line 4a
TO PROVIDE SHELTER, FOOD AND MEDICAL CARE FOR HOMELESS CATS. IN 2021 THERE WERE 186 CATS RELINQUISHED TO THE SHELTER WITH 144 ADOPTED OUT. THERE WERE 325 CATS SHELTERED AT THE END OF 2020. UNWANTED, ADOPTABLE CATS ARE PROVIDED A COMFORTABLE PLACE TO LIVE OUT THEIR LIVES. "LIFE-TIME CARE" IS PROVIDED FOR THE UNADOPTABLE CATS AND FOR CATS BELONGING TO PEOPLE WHO ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE CARE. MEDICAL CARE INCLUDES ENTRY EXAMS, CONTINUING MEDICAL NEEDS, AND NEUTERING. CATS ARE EUTHANIZED ONLY WHEN MEDICAL TREATMENT CANNOT IMPROVE THEIR CONDITION AND/OR COMFORT. UNLIKE MOST ANIMAL SHELTERS, WE DO NOT EUTHANIZE CATS THAT ARE ADOPTABLE BUT NOT SELECTED FOR ADOPTION. IN THAT RESPECT, WE ARE A TRUE "NO-KILL" SHELTER.
