Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
FOR THE EAGLE ROCK COMMUNITY CULTURAL ASSOCIATION (DBA CENTER FOR THE ARTS EAGLE ROCK), THE COVID PANDEMIC HAS BEEN A ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME CHALLENGE FOR OUR ORGANIZATION AND FOR OUR PEERS THROUGHOUT THE GREATER ARTS COMMUNITY. THE HISTORIC CARNEGIE LIBRARY BUILDING IN EAGLE ROCK WHICH IS THE SITE OF OUR OPERATIONS HAS BEEN CLOSED SINCE MARCH 13, 2020 DUE TO THE STATEWIDE STAY-AT-HOME ORDER, AND REMAINED CLOSED FOR THE ENTIRETY OF FY21. WITH THE INABILITY TO OFFER ONSITE PROGRAMMING, WE EXPANDED OUR ONLINE AND OUTDOOR CULTURAL SERVICES FOR A COVID-19-ERA REALITY. SINCE OUR FOUNDING IN 1998, WE HAVE BEEN PROUD TO SERVE OUR NORTHEAST LOS ANGELES COMMUNITY WITH INCLUSIVE, EQUITABLE ARTS EDUCATION AND PROGRAMS, FREE AFTER SCHOOL ARTS ENRICHMENT CLASSES IN TITLE 1 ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS, PUBLIC ART PROGRAMS, AND FREE AND LOW-COST WORKSHOPS, EXHIBITIONS AS WELL AS CONNECT LOCAL CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, FILMMAKERS AND CURATORS TO DIVERSE MULTIGENERATIONAL AUDIENCES. AMID THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, IT HAS BEEN CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN CULTURAL CONTINUITY FOR THE CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND INDIVIDUALS WE SERVE. WE SUFFERED A DROP IN OUR EARNED INCOME FOR FY21 DUE TO THE CANCELLATION OF ALL IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES SUCH AS ARTS WORKSHOPS, CONCERTS, CULTURAL RENTALS, INDOOR EXHIBITIONS, AND OUR BELOVED SUMMER AND WINTER ART CAMPS. YET, EVEN WITH A SMALLER ORGANIZATIONAL BUDGET DUE TO PANDEMIC CONDITIONS, WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE MAINTAINED AND AMPLIFIED OUR CULTURAL SERVICE THROUGH A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO ONLINE ARTS EDUCATION AND PROGRAMMING, THE CREATION OF AN ART SUPPLY DELIVERY SERVICE, OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES WITH COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR TEACHING ARTISTS AND ARTS PROFESSIONALS. WE ARE GRATEFUL TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE, INCLUSIVE ARTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY AT A TIME WHEN WE ALL NEED IT THE MOST.
