IT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE HOLLYWOOD POLICE ACTIVITES LEAGE, A COMMUNITY BASED CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM, TO PROVIDE YOUNG PEOPLE WITH POSITIVE ALTERNATIVES TO GANGS AND DRUGS, THROUGH INTERACTION WITH POLICE OFFICERS IN RECREATION, EDUCATION, ATHLETICS AND FINE ARTS.

MARTIAL ARTS PROGRAM-TRAINS CHILDREN IN THE ART OF TAE KOWN DO AND MIXED MARTIAL ARTS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A FORMER LOS ANGELES POLICE CAPTAIN AND AN ASSISTANT MARTIAL ARTS INSTRUCTOR. STUDENTS LEARN THE MARTIAL ARTS FORMS AND ARE PERIODICALLY TESTED TO CONTINUE MOVING UP THE BELT SYSTEM. THEY ALSO HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE IN UP TO EIGHT TOURNAMENTS PER YEAR.
SOCCER PROGRAM-HOLLYWOOD POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE SOCCER TEMAS COMPETE IN THE ANAHUAK SOCCER ASSOCIATION LEAGUE BASED IN LOS ANGELES. THE CHILDREN PARTICIPATE IN SEVERAL TOURNAMENTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM-HOLLYWOOD POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE OFFERS PARTIAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WHO ARE POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE MEMBERS, AS WEALL AS POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE ALUMNI.
OTHER ACTIVITES INCLUDE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS WITH THE GIRL SCOUTS, HOLLYWOOD FIT CLBUS, AND SPECIAL EVENTS.
