HAHAMONGNA NATIVE PLANT NURSERY IS A CONSERVATION AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM OF THE ARROYO SECO FOUNDATION. THIS NATIVE PLANT NURSERY HAS RAISED MORE THAN 40,000 PLANTS FROM OVER 100 DISTINCT NATIVE SPECIES. PLANTS ARE PROPAGATED FROM GENETICALLY-APPROPRIATE, LOCALLY-SOURCED MATERIAL FROM WITHIN THE ARROYO SECO WATERSHED. THE NURSERY ONLY RAISES NATIVE, NON-HYBRIDIZED PLANTS BECAUSE OF THEIR PROVEN HISTORY OF BEING BEST-SUITED FOR THE REGION. THESE PLANTS ARE USED FOR HABITAT RESTORATION PROGRAMS AND FOR WATER-CONSERVING LANDSCAPING, AN IMPORTANT PRIORITY GIVEN CALIFORNIA'S RECENT LONG DROUGHT. VOLUNTEER INVOLVEMENT AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE ALSO PART OF THE NURSERY'S ACHIEVEMENTS.
