LAPA'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2022 INCLUDED, BUT WERE NOT LIMITED TO, CONTINUING THE TRADITION OF OFFERING A MULTITUDE OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION MCLE SEMINARS. LAPA PROVIDES ONLINE LEGAL EDUCATION SEMINARS. TOPICS INCLUDED ETHICS, BANKRUPTCY, ENTERTAINMENT LAW, PROBATE LAW, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW, E-DISCOVERY, EMPLOYMENT LAW, LITIGATION, ELIMINATION OF BIAS, ENVIRONMENTAL LAW, CRIMINAL LAW, AND A MULTITUDE OF OTHER TOPICS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ADDITIONALLY, LAPA OFFERED SERIES SUCH AS TECH TALK, HAPPY HOURS, AND ONLINE TUTORING FOR PARALEGAL STUDENTS. LAPA'S ANNUAL ACTIVITIES INCLUDED AN EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL OCTOBER CONFERENCE OFFERING MCLE CLASSES ALONG WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR MEMBERS TO NETWORK ALL WHILE SEPARATED BY THE PANDEMIC. THERE WERE SEVERAL NETWORKING MIXERS THAT WERE OFFERED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHER PARALEGAL ASSOCIATIONS IN THE STATE. LAPA SHOWED ITS APPRECIATION BY AWARDING ITS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR, SPONSOR OF THE YEAR, LAW FIRM OF THE YEAR, AND LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNERS WITH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND GRATITUDE. LAPA ALSO AWARDED A PARALEGAL STUDENT WITH A WELL-DESERVED SCHOLARSHIP AWARD. THERE WAS A MEMORABLE PARALEGAL DAY NETWORKING CELEBRATION THAT WAS RECOGNIZED BY THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES MAYOR'S OFFICE. LAPA CONTINUES TO REACH ITS PHILANTHROPY GOALS. IN NOVEMBER 2022, LAPA'S PRO BONO & COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE, SEVERAL BOARD MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS PARTICIPATED AND RAISED FUNDS FOR PUBLIC COUNSEL'S RUN FOR JUSTICE 5K RACE EVENT AT DODGER STADIUM. PUBLIC COUNSEL IS ONE OF THE NATION'S LARGEST PRO BONO FIRMS.
