IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENTTHE ORGANIZATION IS A LEADING VOICE IN ADVOCACY ON ENFORCEMENT AND DETENTION ISSUES, PROVIDING LEGAL SUPPORT, TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO NONCITIZENS, LEGAL ADVOCATES, COMMUNITY GROUPS AND FAMILIES ABOUT THEIR RIGHTS. THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPS COMMUNITY RESOURCE MATERIALS TO BUILD GREATER AWARENESS ABOUT REMEDIES TO GOVERNMENT MISCONDUCT AND DIRECTLY REPRESENTS PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN HARMED BY THE IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT APPARATUS.
CRIMINAL AND DEPORTATION DEFENSETHE ORGANIZATION TRAINS AND ASSISTS PUBLIC DEFENDERS TO ASSESS AND UNDERSTAND THE IMMIGRATION CONSEQUENCES THEIR CLIENTS FACE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ADVOCATES, COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, FAMILIES, AND IMMIGRATION PROFESSIONALS ON DEPORTATION DEFENSE AND CUSTODY ISSUES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES INFORMATION AND REFERRALS TO FAMILIES OF DETAINED IMMIGRANTS NAVIGATING THE DETENTION SYSTEM. THESE SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE FREE OF CHARGE TO PRACTITIONERS IN ALL FIFTY STATES, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, PUERTO RICO, GUAM AND THE U.S VIRGIN ISLANDS.
CIVIL AND POLITICAL RIGHTS ADVOCACYTHE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO DEFEND AND ADVANCE THE RIGHTS OF THOSE WHO ARE MOST IMPACTED AND HAVE THE FEWEST RESOURCES WITHIN THE IMMIGRATION AND THE CRIMINAL LEGAL SYSTEMS. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS BOTH INDEPENDENTLY AND COLLABORATIVELY WITH IMMIGRATION ADVOCACY ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES TO EDUCATE AND STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITY OF COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND IMMIGRATION PROFESSIONALS, WHILE PROMOTING PUBLIC POLICY CHANGE THROUGH DIRECT ADVOCACY AND LITIGATION.
