AN INTERDISCIPLINARY, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONALS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGH THE RESOLUTION OF FAMILY CONFLICT.

CONFERENCES - AFCC HOSTS 2-3 CONFERENCES EACH YEAR, INCLUDING AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE, A FALL CONFERENCE, AND, IN ALTERNATE YEARS, A JOINT CONFERENCE WITH THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF MATRIMONIAL LAWYERS (AAML). ALL CONFERENCES FOCUS ON INTERDISCIPLINARY, AND TO SOME EXTENT INTERNATIONAL, ASPECTS OF FAMILY LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE ATTRACTS APPROXIMATELY 1,000 ATTENDEES FROM 25-30 COUNTRIES. THE FALL CONFERENCE DRAWS 300-500 DELEGATES AS DOES THE JOINT CONFERENCE WITH AAML, HELD BI-ANNUALLY, WHICH LAST OCCURRED DURING THE 2021-22 FISCAL YEAR.
SPECIAL PROJECTS - AFCC SPONSORS A VARIETY OF SPECIAL PROJECTS THAT SERVE THE INTERESTS OF ITS MEMBERS AND THE BROADER FAMILY LAW, MENTAL HEALTH AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION COMMUNITY. IN 2021-22, AFCC COLLABORATED ON A JOINT STATEMENT ON PARENT-CHILD CONTACT PROBLEMS WITH NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JUVENILE AND FAMILY COURT JUDGES, WORKED ON GUIDELINES FOR CHILD CUSTODY EVALUATION, AND PUBLISHED A QUARTERLY JOURNAL, FAMILY COURT REVIEW.
MEMBERSHIP - AFCC HAS APPROXIMATELY 5,900 MEMBERS IN 35 COUNTRIES, INCLUDING 22 CHAPTERS IN THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA. MEMBERS RECEIVE ACCESS TO WEB CONTENT, INCLUDING WEBINARS, A NEWSLETTER, A SUBSCRIPTION TO THE AFCC JOURNAL, FAMILY COURT REVIEW, AND DISCOUNTS ON WEBINARS, CONFERENCES, AND TRAINING PROGRAMS.
TRAININGS AND WEBINARS - AFCC CONDUCTS MONTHLY WEBINARS FOR MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ON TOPICS OF INTEREST TO FAMILY LAW, MENTAL HEALTH, AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROFESSIONALS. WEBINARS ARE ARCHIVED AND AVAILABLE AT NO CHARGE TO AFCC MEMBERS. AFCC PRODUCES TWO TRAINING PROGRAMS ANNUALLY. IN 2021-22, THEY CONTINUED TO BE OFFERED VIRTUALLY, AND PLAN TO MOVE TO 3 PROGRAMS IN 2022-23.
