AN INTERDISCIPLINARY, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONALS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGH THE RESOLUTION OF FAMILY CONFLICT.

CONFERENCE - THE ASSOCIATION HELD THREE CONFERENCES. (1) THE JOINT CONFERENCE WITH THE AMERICAN ACADEMY OF MATRIMONIAL LAWYERS, WHICH FEATURED BOTH ONLINE AND IN-PERSON SESSIONS ON HIGH CONFLICT, MEDIATION, ALIENATION, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PARENT-CHILD CONTACT PROBLEMS. THE CONFERENCE WAS ATTENDED BY 302 PEOPLE, MOST VIRTUALLY, AND PROVIDED CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS AND FAMILY THERAPISTS, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS, MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, MEDIATORS, LAWYERS, AND CUSTODY EVALUATORS. (2) THE AFCC FALL CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN CINCINNATI, OH AND ATTRACTED 212 ATTENDEES. THE CONFERENCE FEATURED 27 SESSIONS ON THE VOICE OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN FAMILY COURT AND INCLUDED 50 JUDGES FROM OHIO. (3) THE 59TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE, "THE USE, MISUSE, AND ABUSE OF TECHNOLOGY IN FAMILY LAW" ATTRACTED APPROXIMATELY 675 REGISTRANTS AND OFFERED MORE THAN 80 SESSION FOCUSING ON TECHNOLOGY, ONLINE DISPUTE RESOLUTION, VIDEOCONFERENCING, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND CHILD CUSTODY EVALUATION. THE CONFERENCE PROVIDED CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR PSYCHOLOGISTS AND FAMILY THERAPISTS, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELORS, MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, MEDIATORS, LAWYERS, AND CUSTODY EVALUATORS.
MEMBERSHIP - DURING THE YEAR THE ASSOCIATION SERVED OVER 5,900 MEMBERS, A DECREASE OF 118 MEMBERS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. MEMBERS ARE PROVIDED ACCESS TO AN INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF COLLEAGUES, A SUBSCRIPTION TO THE ASSOCIATION'S ACADEMIC AND RESEARCH JOURNAL, CONFERENCES, AND TRAINING PROGRAMS, THE MEMBER SECTION OF THE WEBSITE, WEBINARS, REFERRALS AND ASSISTANCE FROM THE ASSOCIATION'S STAFF, AND MORE.
SPECIAL PROJECTS - SPECIAL PROJECTS DURING 2021-22 FOCUSED ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF: (1) GUIDELINES FOR PARENTING PLAN EVALUATIONS IN FAMILY LAW CASES AND (2) A JOINT STATEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JUVENILE AND FAMILY COURT JUDGES ON PARENT-CHILD CONTACT PROBLEMS. BOTH DELIVERABLES WERE POSTED TO THE AFCC WEBSITE. AFCC PUBLISHED A QUARTERLY JOURNAL, FAMILY COURT REVIEW, WHICH IS A BENEFIT OF MEMBERSHIP. THE JOURNAL IS PRODUCED IN COOPERATION WITH HOFSTRA LAW SCHOOL AND PUBLISHED BY WILEY. AFCC ALSO PUBLISHED A MONTHLY E-NEWSLETTER, WHICH IS SENT TO APPROXIMATELY 20,000 PEOPLE, BOTH MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS.
