THE STEM PROGRAM PREPARES THE NEXT GENERATION OF STUDENTS IN SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICES TO LEAD INTO THE FUTURE. THE STEM PROGRAM ENROLLED AND TAUGHT 5000 STUDENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.


THE PREVENTION PROGRAM PROVIDES CULTURAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND OTHER PREVENTION SERVICES TO YOUTH IN SOUTH LOS ANGELES. IN ADDITION, IT EDUCATES COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS AROUND SUBSTANCES AND CURRENT DRUG TRENDS AMONG YOUTH AND ADULTS. THE PREVENTION PROGRAM SERVED 280 CLIENTS ON A WEEKLY BASIS FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.


THE NUTRITION PROGRAM IS A PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES MEALS AND SNACKS TO INFNTS AND CHILDREN IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY WITHIN AT-RISK AREAS. AVALON-CARVER DELIVERED MEALS TO 550 CLIENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2021.

PURPOSE: Funds were used to ensure children and youth K-12 do not fall behind during the upcoming LAUSD school closures. In partnership with several GO Campaign partners, funds were used to create two Safe Zones giving children in these primarily black and Latino communities access to technology and the internet, tutoring to help them understand and complete their assignments, access to STEM programs, mental health counseling, online workout sessions, and extra curricular activities using safe social distancing.
