MARIN SOCIETY OF ARTISTS SEEKS TO FOSTER AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE ALL PEOPLE GROW ANDTHRIVE THROUGH THE ARTS. DEDICATED SINCE 1927 TO PROMOTING THE ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY, MSA WORKS WITH NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND OTHERS TO PROVIDE AN ARRAY OFARTS OPPORTUNITIES. MSA MAINTAINS SPACE FOR ONGOING DISPLAYS OF ORIGINAL ART ANDPROGRAMS AT THE ART CENTER AND IN THE COMMUNITY TO PROMOTE CULTURAL ENRICHMENT ANDTHE ARTS IN ALL FORMS. OPERATED A COMMUNITY ART CENTER PROVIDING PHYSICAL SPACE AND VIRTUAL PRESENCE FOR DIVERSE ARTS ACTIVITIES INCLUDING CLASSES, POETRY READINGS, CLASSICAL MUSIC, AND ART EXHIBITIONS. PROVIDED 17 ARTIST STUDIO SPACE. SPONSORED 12 ART EXHIBITIONS, MONTHLY ART CRITIQUES AND ONGOING FIGURE DRAWING AND PAINTING ACTIVITIES. PARTICIPATED IN DOWNTOWN SAN RAFAEL ARTS DISTRICT PUBLIC ART PROGRAMS, BOTH ONLINE AND AT THE ART CENTRE. PARTNERED WITH CANAL ALLIANCE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS INITIATED THE CANAL ARTS INITIATIVE (CAI) BRINGING PUBLIC ART TO A DISADVANTAGED IMMIGRANT COMMUNITY. WORKED WITH THE CITY OF SAN RAFAEL TO AMEND CITY CODE ALLOWING PUBLIC ART AND ELIMINATING ONEROUS FEES AND APPROVAL PROCESSES.
